Ignore the sneering elites – Donald Trump can win

sneerDonald Trump’s feat in dismissing all other Republicans from the US presidential race ought not to come as a surprise. I noted months ago that he was a more serious prospect than most believed – or wanted to believe – and when I wrote from America in March after Super Tuesday it was to say he seemed unstoppable. If the Republican Party wants to destroy itself, it could attempt to impose another candidate: but otherwise, Mr Trump is in the final.

  • I love it! “A Peasant’s Revolt”!
“Mrs Clinton, the peasants are revolting!”
    “Yes, aren’t they, though!”

Trump still has more “outrageous” pronouncements to make which oddly make sense when one thinks about it, such as his proposal to settle the national debt for so many cents on the dollar and thereby give public finances a fresh start.

    • Yes he does;)

A good point was made in at least one place that Trump seems to be the first politician who understands that the avenue to the voters is via the internet and public venues. He’s changing his comments continuously and basically, at least up to now, the opposition is in disarray. Its a change as big as when Kennedy outshone Nixon in the TV debate. I give him at least a puncher’s chance.

Nixon won the debate on radio.

And all the big name Republicans (many of them who were previously major candidates or vocal advocates of those candidates) are lining up to forswear supporting Trump in the general election, encouraging Republicans to vote Democrat this time or stay home…

Their true colors are on full display now. And they still don’t get that the rank and file have thoroughly rejected them and their opinions and their authority.
