A nice little rant but the obvious problem with it is that it is that though it’s easy to find politicians whose policies one opposes, finding an individual and/or party that is good enough to put an “X” beside may be impossible.
So is he advocating ballot spoilage? I don’t think so, but sometimes there are literally no adequate choices to vote FOR (while simultaneously voting AGAINST other candidates). Free speech is the wellspring of our societies, as he suggested, and though democracy is also important (it’s an expression of free speech, at least in theory) it is not a panacea and of late its effectiveness has been largely curtailed in the West.
Pat nails it once again.
