Donald Trump Wins Indiana in a Crushing Blow to Ted Cruz who drops out of race

Donald J. Trump won Indiana’s Republican primary on Tuesday, moving him closer to claiming the party’s presidential nomination and delivering a devastating blow to Senator Ted Cruz and other Republicans hoping to stop him.

Mr. Cruz had pinned his hopes on Indiana, which seemed to offer one of his best chances to deny Mr. Trump the delegates needed to secure the nomination before the party convention in July.

Cruz drops out!

    Cruz just suspended his campaign…

    • He gone!

      • Trump’s going to chew up, and spit out, Hillary.

Now you Canuck’s can take him back!

        • Apparently we’re meant to be bracing ourselves for a mass influx of indignant yanks fleeing the Trump Terror. I don’t know why they assume they can all just come here.

          • Maurice Miner

Yeah, but EliminaTED is one of yours, isn’t he?

Sorry, didn’t mean to upvote myself! I’m not Ted Cruz after all!

He was born in Calgary but his mother is an American.
The only objection I had to him was that the Democrats would be shameless using the birther issue against him.

          • Maurice Miner

The ONE major objection I had to him was that the Democrats would be shameless using the birther issue against him, AND his Goldman Sachs connections fomenting his future policy.

The TWO major objections I had to him was that the Democrats would be shameless using the birther issue against him, his Goldman Sachs connections fomenting his future policy, AND his beaten hound-dog jowls becoming the predominant focus of his campaign.

The THREE major objections I had to him….

          • dance…dancetotheradio

I like Cruz, it’s just that Trump is better.
Do we really have to beat the shit out of Ted after he’s bowed out?

  • I’m popping over to NRO to experience the wailing and rending of garments.

    • Ha!

Woohoo, now we get to choose from a corrupt, Progressive, Big Government, Kleptocrat supported by racists and fascists and a corrupt, Progressive, Big Government, Kleptocrat by racists and fascists. Congrats Republicans you became the Democrat Party! Onward to being Europe!

        • It ain’t that bad.

Media is going dismantle Trump like a cheap suit anyway. Now we’ll see who’s been lyin. Mr. Zero Integrity must think he’s made of teflon like Obama.

        • Norman_In_New_York

Ronald Reagan left office 27 years ago and times have dramatically changed. Voters want a pragmatic nationalist and Trump has a record of getting things done.

Reading some of those comments … it’s like the world has ended. Seriously, what do these “conservatives” find so utterly repellant about Trump and his policies? Is it that they perceive him as a threat to their status and power, as many have suggested, or is it more that they are genuinely convinced that Clinton is now a shoe-in for the presidency?

        • Una Salus

Well, I can tell you that Boehner and McConnell are celebrating tonight. You just lost your republic for a few cheap Trump one liners. Would you buy a used car from him?
How do you expect the people you’ve been trashing to vote in the election?

          • H

“Lost your republic” – seriously? That’s a bit of hyperbole, I would suggest. But anyway, the answer is that his personality as people perceive it, is so unsavory, so untrustworthy? I guess that’s fair but was the same level of animosity displayed toward Obama? Do they actually believe Trump is worse than Obama?

          • Una Salus

Think of it like Trump’s “truthful hyperbole”. That’s my suggestion.
It’s not about Trump’s personality it’s about his track record.
What’s so great about his personality that you’d believe a word he says?
Why do you think Boehner never called Trump Satan incarnate?
Why do you think Trump funded Boehner against the Tea Party?
            Good luck you’ve been played.

  • Brett_McS

Well, it was a hard road, a difficult process, but finally we Republicans have managed to select a candidate that can be beaten by the Democrat’s “death warmed over”. Now, it’s back to the easy life of opposition! That time in the majority was scary.

    • Norman_In_New_York

Trump has already closed the gap in the polls between himself and Hillary. Election day is six months away and a lot can happen during that time.

      • dance…dancetotheradio

He hasn’t even started in on her, yet.
The brokered Republican convention is off the table.
Time to coast in on rallies and lob a few grenades her way.

From Romney to the supposed anti-Romney candidate but still no clue.

But will Trump win the elections? That’s the real prize isn’the it?
