Poll: ‘Total Rejection’ Of Islam In France From All Across The Political Spectrum

An Ifop poll for Le Figaro measuring perceptions of Islam has found that people have a growing sense of unease about its role in France.

What’s notable about the results is that where once such sentiments were perceived as the preserve of the “extreme right”, they are now felt across the political spectrum. Back in 2010, 39 per cent of Socialist Party voters felt Islam was too prominent within French society — a majority of 52 per cent feel this to be the case six years on.

Le Figaro says the poll confirms a “total rejection” of the religion in France, after its capital in 2015 saw two deadly Islamist terror attacks.

    Only fifty two percent?

    • I believe many people are still reluctant to admit their stance publicly.

    • Joseph Shmeau

I believe that was 52% of the supporters of the Parti Socialiste. It’s difficult to get through to such people. It must be higher for everyone else. Also, since the PS was elected in part due to the Muslim vote, probably the percentage of PS supporters who are not themselves Muslims would be a higher number.

    • lolwut?

      That’s what I was thinking.

Not even a remotely a “Total rejection”

This number can only rise when more plots come to fruition…

    • dance…dancetotheradio

The tragic thing is that more plots have to come to fruition to wake the rest of them up.

Post 9/11, plenty of us were willing to go along with the ‘tiny radical fringe’ myth, but every new attack causes more scales to fall from eyes. A decade and a half later, all those one-off isolated incidents form a clear pattern, and only the wilfully ignorant and ideologically zealous refuse to see it.

    This is what always happens.
“Oh, we can’t believe that because the ‘far right’ does.”
Then it’s too late and everyone goes down the tubes because of the right thinking people’s vanity.
I hope they overcome and liquidate the mohammedans and then the “right” should liquidate the fools.

The muhammadans and the left are two sides of the same coin. They are allies in a war against western civilization. Each believes they will prevail and impose their ideology on the conquered, but for the time being they are both focused on their common enemy.

A truly unholy alliance. Reminds one of Hitler and Stalin in the day. I wonder if we’ll see the falling out here.

        • Millie_Woods

It’s a certainty. I suspect it will happen when the leftists realize that they are the junior partner in the alliance. Unless the right is rejuvenated and deals with both problems. Unfortunately that looks pretty unlikely considering many on the right aren’t even aware that we’re fighting a civil war and a foreign invasion at the same time.

    Oh good.

Now how many car-b-ques did that take??

It doesn’t matter if it’s 99%. As long as they keep electing socialists nothing will change. Europeans don’t understand that their problem isn’t islam, their problem is socialism and it’s inherent propensity for destroying host systems by nurturing social conflict that sours every aspect of public life. To the hard-boiled socialist, getting your legs blown off at the airport check in or getting slaughtered at a concert is just another painful step toward the social nirvana they have planned for us.
