New Hampshire Republicans try to limit Trump’s convention influence

New Hampshire’s Republican establishment is trying to limit the influence of Donald Trump supporters at the party’s crucial national convention in July despite the presidential frontrunner having won the state’s primary overwhelmingly.

In an email obtained by the Guardian, the state’s Republican leadership proposed a slate where the delegate chair and every committee slot would be filled by supporters of other candidates.

The Stupid Party is living up to its moniker. :rolleyes

    • They do seem determined to lose.

      • BeukendaalMason

Maybe they don’t want to win with the candidate that is Democrat lite (or Democrat hate)? Oh, the funny thing is most of the people I have checked so far, the Colorado chairman and the Executive Director in New Hampshire are people who are new in their position, less than a year, and have little previous political experience. It appears that most of the people who are anti-Trump are the newer grassroots Conservative Republicans and those who are Trumps “friends” are the long term non-Conservative Republicans.

        • DavidinNorthBurnaby

I wish I could remember who said “For forty years Hillary Clinton has been peddling influence and for forty years Donald Trump has been buying it.” 😀

  • Hard Little Machine

If the GOP steals the nomination from Trump there will be violence.

    • V10_Rob

“Burn this mother****er down” remains an acceptable Plan B.

    • DavidinNorthBurnaby

And if he wins the Presidency all hell will break loose from the left. If anybody thinks the street theater we’ve been treated to so far outside (and inside) his rallies has been ott, just stand by.

      • bob e

that’s fine.. then we can arrest everyone including
the people behind it. If they get out of hand cops will handle it.

      • dance…dancetotheradio

What amazes me is that he’s getting it from the left and the right.
That tells me he’s pretty much dead center and bang on.

        • Alain

I suggest it is not the right but the false right.

          • dance…dancetotheradio

I always had an inkling that there was a false right.
Trump has shone the light on the cockroaches.

      • jack burns

The left is careful not to provoke a proportional response. At least not while there are 80 million legal gun owners out there, many of whom have stocked up with some pretty high end equipment.

    • jack burns

Not sure if anything will drive the middle class to violence while they still have something to lose, or rather the illusion that they have something. We’re close to a cusp but the trigger will likely be a black swan event. My 2 cents.

Funny how the hate-filled right-wing fascists never seem to be the ones resorting to violence…

Led Zeppelin was my favourite band when I was six.
I forgot all about Johnny Cash after I heard Led Zeppelin II for the first time.
Nowadays, Whole Lotta Love kinda grosses me out.
And being Andy Rooney: How come they never play Gallow’s Pole on classic rock radio anymore?

          • mauser 98

            Page , a 59 Les Paul , Marshall stack

Zep I and II where primarily recorded with a vintage Telecaster. However Page primarily used Les Pauls Live. Here’s an ealy show with the Tele. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fG4JCerIuE

’59 belonged to Joe Walsh … refinished it and did not like it
            sold it to Page
Billy Gibbons was offered $5 million for his 20 years ago
Gary Moore’s ’59 belonged to Peter Green
honestly did not look this up
            useless trivia in my head…help!

when i was in high school.. if you did not know Stairway was recorded on a Tele you were a HOMO!

That’s because right wing fascists are actually national socialists.
        Left wing fascists are Marxists.
And conservatives are free law abiding people.

if the gop succeeds in screwing Trump up, it will be the last of the party.
If they actually think it will be business as usual they will have played
the wrong cards. Things are gonna happen ..

    • jack burns

The top likely needs to be destroyed even if Trump succeeds. Its too permeated with junkers.

  • jack burns

This Arizona delegate deal has convinced me to not back Cruz under any circumstances if he manages to become the nominee. The damned holy rollers want to be deep, introspective theologians at a time when people are taking to the streets.
