Ontario taxpayers subsidized buyers of $1.1 million Porsche 918 Spyder

The Ontario government gave taxpayer-funded rebates to five millionaires to buy one of the most expensive cars ever manufactured, the Porsche 918 Spyder.

CBC News has learned that five Ontario drivers received funding through the province’s Electric Vehicle Incentive Program in 2015 for buying the Porsche 918, which retailed in Canada at about $1.1 million.

The Ford Excursion when it was built was the largest SUV you could buy. So large in fact it qualified in the US as farm equipment and therefore entitled the owner to take up to $14,000 in tax write offs against it. Do you know any farmers that owned one? I don’t. Everyone I knew was a doctor, dentist, orthodontist, lawyer or CPA.

Ontario taxpayers are idiots and deserve this because:
    1. They kept the Liberals in power for 15 years.
    2. After so many scandals ,they should have violently overthrown the Liberal government.

My folks would be the perfect commercial for Wynne’s Ontario Pension: no company pension, some savings, CPP, etc. They get by, mostly because as children of the Depression, they know how to live frugally, and never complain. But Wynne would call them “poor”.

As we all know, though, hydro has gone up, far past any increases in pensions. So they applied for a rate reduction.

Turns out that, in fact, they aren’t poor at all. Wynne believes that they can afford any hydro increase, even though any Ontario pension they would get would be wiped out by hydro increases. Go figure.

Nice to see that we have $ for millionaires, though. Makes me feel all warm inside, I don’t even need to worry about my hydro bill.
