Why should we take advice from a president who has surrendered the world to chaos?

I wonder who in Downing Street briefed Barack Obama’s team on the wording of his friendly warning to the British. Somebody obviously pointed out that the population of this country retained a quaint obsession with the Second World War, and would therefore treat any reference to the glorious dead as irreproachable. So the President invoked the European graves of those American servicemen who died to protect – well, what exactly?

perhaps he will be welcomed in greece ..

  • One of Obama’s first acts while assuming the US presidency was to send back to the the UK a loaned bust of Winston Churchill.

Obama’s father’s anti UK colonial mindset clearly scared Obama.

    • Like when Justin removed the portrait of the Queen from the foyer in Parliament. They’re both on the same page with Global governance.

  • That was a looong nagging speech. B.O. often struggled for words — at one point he erroneously claimed that the E.U. played a role in rebuilding Europe after WWII. He also seemed to imply that the US won WWII by itself! And then he had this doozie: “sometimes you have to compromise sovereignty for the greater good…bla bla” — that one got him into trouble right away when it was pointed out by a reporter that the United States would never do the same on issues of sovereignty.

Finally, he seemed to resort to extortion when he said that the U.S. is naturally going to give preference to trade deals with a large economic bloc like the EU with access to many markets, before it would develop trade with Britain acting on its own. Cameron seemed to more or less agree with Obama — he pointed out that Britain’s participation in the EU is mostly limited to the economic realm, already having opted out of a number EU policies. And the security threat of remaining in the E.U., Mr. Cameron?

It all may seem irrelevant because Obama will soon be gone. But maybe he was giving the Brits a taste of what relations would be like under a Hillary or Bernie Democrat administration.

Whatever Hillary really thinks, she knows enough to cover her diplomatic ass.

      • Very true. Hillary may be a liar, but she’s smarter than Barack.

Since you’re in NY — worse case scenario and Hillary gets elected Prez is there a feeling that she would at least be an improvement over Barack?
