Saudi Arabia threatens to sell off US assets if Congress passes 9/11 bill

saudi1[1]

Officials in Saudi Arabia have reportedly told the Obama administration they will sell off hundreds of billions of dollars of American assets if Congress passes a bill that would allow the Saudi government to be held responsible for any role in the September 11 attacks.

…It said that Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi foreign minister, delivered the kingdom’s message last month during a trip to Washington, telling legislators that Saudi Arabia would be forced to sell up to $750bn in treasury securities and other assets in the United States before they could be in danger of being frozen by American courts.  h/t

    Go for it Saudis!
Then you will have no influence over us and we can get to work shutting down ALL your jihadi networks and we can get to work on North American energy independence.
    I dare you Saudi Arabia.
    Pull that trigger!

    • Zero tolerance ALL Saudi assets in the US.

They funded the murder of 3,000+ Americans.

It is long overdue to make them pay.

    • In order to sell something, you need to find a buyer. If you dump that much value on the market at once there could never be enough buyers and the value you hold would approach zero. So, go ahead you dumb bastards, screw yourselves to the wall. The only real power they ever had was the “oil spigot” now that we have fracking and the anti-fracking president is a lame duck, we should just raise the tariffs on foreign oil to support the prices for the frackers and dump the oversupply to our friends in Europe (at least the ones that haven’t fallen to the Jihad). What’ll towel-head empire do then? raise their tariffs on our agricultural produce? Not a chance. Since they don’t produce a damn thing but oil, they will be trying to make hot fudge sundaes with sand scoops and oil on top in no time. Go ahead, Saudi scum, make our millennium!

      • Ed

They dont even produce the oil. They contract with foreign western companies to do it. They fly to European capitals, drink and fuck and call themselves princes, while professing deep allegiance to sharia. A more useless and depraved tribe you could not find.

        • John

And let’s not forget that the Saudis ‘princes’ also need our clinics, hospitals and medical technologies in order to treat their gout, their obesity and their alcohol-ravaged livers.

Half the total body weight of many of these princes is composed of Foie Gras

          • MRHapla

yeah, the camel piss therapy just not getting it done

      • MRHapla

I thought the same thing,,”To Whom, will you be selling off too”?

    • El Martyachi

I disagree on the grounds that expensive gas will make the remaining years of our nations’ rapid destruction far less tolerable.

      • Clausewitz

Saudi gas could be instantly replaced by the Oil sands in Alberta. The US just needs someone in charge who isn’t an asshole like Obama.

        • El Martyachi

          Optimist!

  • Maurixio Garciasanchez

The terrorist attack was planned and funded by the Saudis , people already know long time ago .

  • Mike Williams

Sounds like a buying opportunity to me…they can sell but it doesn’t mean anybody will pay what they want.

    • Clink9

They haven’t figured that part out yet.

  • Obama won’t pass that.

    • The guy who bowed way down to the Saudi king – of course he won’t let it pass.

  • Ron MacDonald

How long would it take the U.S. to overthrow the Saudi regime? Obama hasn’t got the balls to do it, but both Trump and Cruz do.

    • Mark DeFord Eletion

I would not expect Cruz to do much of anything that would go against saudi wishes. The saudis control both political parties in the us, the corporate media, universities, hollywood, and who knows what else.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

      Cruz wouldn’t do dick.
Trump MIGHT let them die on the vine.

      • Minicapt

Remember, Trump is very good at changing direction on a dime; perhaps the best ever.

        Cheers

        • Drunk_by_Noon

Actually, he’s a fairly stubborn man not exactly prone to changing direction AT ALL.
Do just make stuff up when it comes to Trump?

          • Minicapt

            I was paraphrasing him.

            Cheers

    • John

Cruz has absolutely no power nor autonomy. Were he to win, those slick oligarchs who gerrymandered his corrupt campaign will stick a tin crown on his head and then roll out their shopping list.

  • Brenda

Is this an opportunity to get Saudi American assets at rock bottom prices?

  • Dana Garcia

What great friends the Saudholes are. Apparently Obama’s bowing and scraping didn’t count for much.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

Or the Bush family’s either since 1989, or maybe even earlier.

      • Dana Garcia
      • John

Yeah, they were just as bad.

        • Dana Garcia

Plus GW Bush helped the king set up the scholarship program that still brings tens of thousands of Saudi students to US universities.

      • MRHapla

        Much earlier,,early 1900s,,,the great grandfather

    • Raymond Hietapakka

Obama looks like he’s about going to sniff on Old Turban Head’s crotch…

      • DavidinNorthBurnaby

Maybe that’s some sort of muzzie custom. Anyone know?

    • MRHapla

Obozo was being told to turn around, present his hind quarters, the Obozo Doctrine aka ,”Down Low Diplomacy”

  • pdxnag

    Dump the mosques.

  • 750 billion $ ! Looks like the Saudis own half of America.

    • V10_Rob

Suez Crisis all over again. America told the Brits “Do what we say, or we’ll sell all your assets we own and crater your economy” Final nail in the coffin of the British Empire.

All that fades into memory, and then some bright sparks hit upon the idea of selling billions in US Treasury bonds to less-than-friendly nations. America could go on an extended bender with the credit card, and the creditors would never ever try to collect or use it as geopolitical leverage.

      Whoopsy!

    • MRHapla

      just the debt,,,,,,,,,

  • Raymond Hietapakka

What will President “House Negro” have to say about this?

    • David Smith

      this

      • DavidinNorthBurnaby

” … stand with my fellow muzzies …” fifh

  • pdxnag

The political speech by Saudi owned companies must be prohibited by Congress. The Citizen United case specifically did not protect, under our First Amendment, such political meddling by foreign owned corporations.

  • John

After they dump their assets for fire sale prices, America can then get started on kicking out all those Saudi students in U.S. universities. Why should we transfer our knowledge and technological expertise to these thankless, backward assholes?

  • MRHapla

OK, so you sell off , to whom?

Trump would jump at the chance to retire old debt at a few cents on the dollar. 750,000,000,000 for the low, low price of 75,000,000.? Deal
