The Christian militia fighting ISIS

A group of Christians in Iraq have formed their own militia to protect people from the so-called Islamic State group. The leader of the Babylon Brigade says they were left with no choice but to take up arms when IS fighters targeted Christians.

There’s a striking picture on the wall. It shows an untarmacked road, scorched by sunlight, leading to a small village with a mountain range behind it. And all along the side of the road there are crosses every 100m – taller even than lamp posts.

“Christian village,” a guard mumbles. “Near Mosul.”

  • It’s not like anyone is going to fight for them.

    • Not Justin, certainly not Obama or Cameron.

      • Indeed.

I wonder what took the Christians so long, actually.

Justinian and the Kenyan will probably condemn their actions as “unhelpful” like Joos defending themselves always is.

        • Will Quest

Western media will paint them as the aggressors , fighting innocent muzzies …….

            Or extremists…for wanting to exist…

They are just doing the job we won’t. Not that in itself is a bad thing. Our leaders seem more interested in helping Islamic militias. Who seem to have loyalties only to themselves. What we are actually accomplishing there is beyond me. Good luck to these guys.

“Our leaders seem more interested in helping Islamic militias.”
      Because they’re muzzies themselves.

“So, a Christian militia,” I remark.

“What about the commandment: Thou shalt not kill?” I ask.

Apparently Christians are supposed to let themselves be exterminated so that BBC reporters don’t get upset.

Actually, “kill” is a misinterpretation. The Aramaic properly translates to “commit murder”.

King James was not the brightest lamp in the palace.

They added the bit in Leviticus about “shall not suffer a witch to live” because His Maj was such an ardent fan of witch burning. Nice guy.

        • Minicapt

In the days of James I, the word ‘slay’ meant murder, ‘kill’ was a legal death.
But, in the OT, David slew Goliath, which was a good thing; but David had Uriah the Hittite send to the ‘forefront of the battle’ to be killed, which was bad.

Don’t anyone tell Obama or he will bomb them and arm their enemies.
