Reuters reports that Daesh executed 175 of the 300 kidnapped cement workers outside of Damascus.
Syrian state news SANA reported that 300 workers were kidnapped from Al Badia Cement on Thursday. The company has had no contact with the workers since their capture.
According to Reuters, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) estimated only 170 workers had been captured by Daesh, and taken to various militant-controlled suburbs
outside of Damascus. SOHR reported that 140 workers fled the plant and went into hiding before Daesh attacked.
Daesh has not released an official statement on the kidnappings or executions.
