Amnesty International blasts Trudeau for remarks about jailed Saudi blogger

MONTREAL — Amnesty International is blasting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s most recent comments on jailed Saudi blogger Raif Badawi.

Trudeau told Montreal radio station 98.5 FM today his government wants to help free Badawi but must tread warily.

He said pushing too hard and too fast can sometimes have harmful consequences.

That prompted Amnesty spokeswoman Anne Sainte-Marie to say the remarks were somewhat indecent on Trudeau’s part.
