Palmyra mass grave: Tortured women & children among dozens of ISIS victims unearthed by Syrian Army

The Syrian Army is unearthing a mass grave consisting of at least 40 corpses, many of them women and children. They were butchered by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the recently liberated ancient city of Palmyra.

So far the army has recovered 25 corpses. Among those killed by IS were three children and five females. As the excavation proceeded, 15 more corpses were unearthed – all of them women and children.

Syria should be trying ISIS war criminals. If the World Court tries them, they’ll get life in a luxurious EU prison, the Syrians will execute them.

    • Syria is a war criminal;)

The likes of Assad, Khadafi and Saddam Hussein are the only people than can control Muslims, we should have left well enough alone.

I have to agree; I don’t like Syria and never have, just another POS anti-Semitic backward ME hellhole like all the others, but like all other ME or North African dictatorships it was their asshole power-grabbing, violently undemocratic, nominally-secular governments that kept the fundamentalist Islamic factions under control and kept a relative level of stability in the region. The West should have never started getting involved with any supposedly “democratic” anti-government movements anywhere in the ME, starting with Iran; look what they ended up with there. Whatever monster they end up helping to create always ends up being at least twice as hideous and horrifying as the one they got rid of. These people don’t do democracy. They don’t get it and they never will.

Remember the Canadian Maher Arar (sp?). who claimed to have been “tortured” in Syria, and ended up getting a massive settlement from the Canadian government (even more than what David Millgard got for being wrongfully imprisoned for nearly 30 years)…he was the healthiest-looking “torture victim” I had ever seen.

And not any trace of evidence of torture on him. That was most certainly something Harper should never have done. I recall raising the issue with my local Conservative MP, whose excuse was that had the government not done so, the court would have awarded him more. I didn’t buy it then and still don’t.

Yes, it’s shocking how much money people can make by claiming to be “victims” without ever having to prove it. And even if they fail, they’ve got nothing to lose, financially. It’s not like the criminal justice system at all, where perjury is a serious offense, the burden of proof is always on the complainant, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty, and wasting police time with false complaints can get you slapped with a huge fine or get your ass thrown in jail. All you seem to need to make enough money to never have to work another day of your life is the willingness to tell a barefaced lie over and over again, and a good lawyer.

    I agree…..realpolitik….

  • DavidinNorthBurnaby

Of course all the victims were women and children. The men all ran away leaving them behind. That’s why we don’t see women and children among the “refugees”, just hordes of fighting age males. Disgusting. Gutless.
