Carbon pricing: Poorer, not greener

Here’s something Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Alberta Premier Rachel Notley and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne won’t tell you about their carbon pricing schemes.

It’s that they won’t reduce greenhouse gas emissions linked to climate change effectively and will instead become a permanent sin tax we’ll all pay for using fossil fuel energy, much like the papal indulgences of old.

There is no “climate change” linked to “man made” CO2 emissions. There is no utopian climate, nor a way to achieve it. Carbon pricing, carbon taxes, carbon-whatever, are simply the last gasp of politicians who are about to run out of our money. REAL productivity is required to improve one’s quality of life, but our governments are invested in charades like “renewable energy” from wind turbines !!!

Lorrie Goldstein used to get it. But now even he is sipping the koolaid. Oh, and Patrick Brown is a complete asshole, and the Ontario PC Party is dead to me.

Remember the movie Highlander II where they were so concerned about the ozone layer and they fucked it all up with their ‘solution’?

‘The shield has the side effect of condemning the planet to a state of constant night, a high average global temperature, and high humidity. By 2024, the years of darkness have caused humanity to lose hope and fall into a decline. The shield has fallen under the control of the Shield Corporation. The corporation’s current chief executive, David Blake, is focused on profit, and is imposing fees for the corporation’s services. A number of terrorist groups have begun trying to take down the Shield, among them Louise Marcus, a former employee of the Shield Corporation.’

        Sounds cheery.

Ontario gave us the GREEN fees for Electronic at the point of Purchase which was to pay for it’s disposal at the end of the Life-Cycle.

But the $42,000,000.00 collected had vanished as Electronics items are still going to the land fills as junk.
Wynne’s latest Pension Plan is a ponzi scheme and tells people that if the put $1000.00 a month into the plan it will get them $26,000.00 a year in Pension money……one day in the future .
Don’t be fooled, these Plans are very much like the Insurance fraud scams for Disability coverage. The CPP plan for early draw-down via some disability is reduced by any other Plan you make have that gives you a monthly support. But the Insurance Company also will deduct for claim by any CPP about per month.
If you had Insurance on a Car Loan for payments per month to replace lost income or cover the car payments if disabled…..that too will be reduced based on any other coverage.

The Ontario Pension is designed with the hope you die early to not make a claim, or that when you do make a claim it gets reduced by the CPP and OAS amount.

Lorrie Goldstein recently criticized Conservatives for attacking other Conservatives meaning those who are attacking Patrick Brown for his “revenue neutral carbon pricing” scheme even though we all know that it will not be revenue neutral. Primarily based on the fact on what is an actual “Conservative”. I would easily answer that is anyone who believes in Socialism in the form of wealth redistribution as well as higher taxes is definitely NOT a Conservative.

Even when SNN still existed I recall him buying the climate change due to man crap. He just wasn’t perched as high on the band wagon as the others, but he was already there.

I’ve been trying without luck to find the source… There’s a BC school that’s paying these gaia indulgences, tens of thousands per year. Leaving aside what a fraud these credits are, the school could reduce it’s carbon footprint (and halve the credits they’d need to pay) by modernizing it’s heating system, for the cost of a year or three’s worth of carbon credits. There’s no money available for that, to actually become more carbon neutral. But there is money to pay the carbon sin tax, in perpetuity, tens of thousands pissed down the drain annually with nothing to show for it.

  • I like the “papal indulgences” analogy. It was one of the first things that came to mind when I first heard about the carbon taxation scheme a few years back. Immediately struck me as something along the lines of a religious dogma based on guilt, rather than science.

It boils down to the same thing, expecpt that at least papal indulgences were not imposed on everyone. You had to buy the scam.

      • True, and people who bought indulgences would only do it if they felt guilty of something.

Re: global warming none of us are guilty of anything — CO2 is not a pollutant. It’s necessary for all plant life on earth to flourish, which in turn processes it into oxygen so animal life can likewise flourish. It’s a symbiotic relationship. That’s why they call it the “greenhouse effect” — green is good, people! CO2 and Oxygen are best buddies in Mother Nature’s scheme of things.
