Two brave women carry hidden cameras, film life inside Islamic State-held al-Raqqah, Syria

THIS is what it looks like inside the city Islamic State sealed off from the rest of world.

Women there are prisoners and sex slaves. Those lucky enough to be spared such a fate are resigned to a life where a job and an education are forbidden and where they cannot leave the house without company.

In the streets, prisoners are tossed from tall buildings, beheaded or shot while crowds gather. Heavily-armed foreign fighters patrol the streets surrounded by rubble where buildings of character — including a grand mosque — once stood.
