Germany: Saxony’s police accused of being friendly with PEGIDA

OH No!

In the eastern German state of Saxony, politicians seem to be having an especially hard time trying to get long-time locals on board with refugee policies that see hundreds of people arriving from Syria or Iraq every week.

While, at the national level, Angela Merkel may be determined that Germany “can do this,” Saxony has seen the rise of the anti-Muslim Pegida (“Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West”) group and witnessed ugly incidents like the one in the village of Clausnitz, where in February an angry mob threatened newly-arriving refugees.

Bravo for those who have the intelligence to understand what the end result will be and to have the courage to resist it with every possible means.

Hardly surprising the police are less than thrilled with the situation. THEY’RE the ones who are going to be expected to clean up the mess. With official directions to do their job without acting in a way that could be construed as ‘racist’, such as charging, arresting, questioning, taking a report or looking in the direction of a refugee.

Arrest a regional PEGIDA leader for wearing a pig hat, look the other way on New Year’s Eve in Cologne, water canon mass immigration protesters in Cologne the next day, enforce a prohibition on a memorial ceremony and procession for Alexandra Mezher, “catch and release” immigrants who commit crimes while minimizing and hiding crime stats by new arrivals, all good policing. Shake hands with a PEGIDA member and all hell breaks loose. No political agenda there. Nope.

To think they were defending rapefugees at first.
