Corporate Leader Of Referendum ‘In’ Campaign Admits Wage RISE After Brexit, Says ‘Not Necessarily A Good Thing’

No not for him. Bastard.

  • Drunk_by_Noon

I used to think, why would a “smart business leader” do this (support unrestricted immigration) to their own country? Surely they realize how harmful this is.
Surely they must realize that they are harming their very own domestic market for their goods and services, while driving down the value of a day’s work.
Surely they must know these things!

Yeah, they know, they just don’t care.
They would rather cost you a living and a livelihood just to make a few extra dollars.
    It REALLY IS that simple.
    They really are that greedy.
    They really are that short-sighted!
They are not “smart” at all.
They are just that ruthless and mercenary.

    • It is every bit as simple as that.

    • El Martyachi

The same applies to saving a few extra dollars by shopping at walmart.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

The lower standard of living is most of what drives the shopping at Walmart.
Besides, if I shop at Walmart or not, much of the time it’s damn near impossible to stay away from Chinese made goods, if that’s what you were getting at.

        • El Martyachi

Ya.. that’s what I’m talking about. A lot of people don’t seem to give a damn that buying Chinese crap puts local shops out of business.

AND YA KNOW WHAT ELSE??!! The masses of newly rich Chinese should at least have the common decency to by domestic luxury vehicles instead of German ones when they send their kids to uni here.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

I think your rich Chinese in B.C. are going to eventually be a huge problem.

          • Frances

They already are: they’re not there so – as non-residents – they’re not being taxed on their world-wide income as the rest of us are. However, wife and kids are and – with minimum “income” – are claiming all the benefits they can including GST and CTTB. Apparently Dad’s “gifts” to family aren’t income under the meaning of the act.

Chances are you’ve all seen this photo (from Brazil) at some point.

This is not a recipe for long term stability and quality of life for the rich. Do they really want to live in perpetual fear for their lives and the lives of their family? Surrounded by people that resent them and would burn it all to the ground at the slightest provocation, because they themselves have nothing to lose?

We don’t have peasant rebellions in the West anymore because the peasants were given a stake in society, a reason to support it and make it work. You take that away, just to add a fraction of a percent to the quarterly profits…

      • Drunk_by_Noon

        Yes to everything you said.
Like I said, not smart, just greedy and ruthless.

    Immigration drives income inequality.

    • Frances

Didn’t back in the day when the best an immigrant might get was a plot of land and the opportunity to starve to death (even less for spouse’s family who came to this country so long ago we don’t know when). Though there’s always some ignoramus such as Chris Noble, the failed NDP candidate from Red Deer Alberta who whined that “…a large majority of family farms in Alberta got their first 160 acres of land for free…”. Needless to say, he got promptly and properly thumped by Albertans both rural and urban who noted that “free” land came with a lot of conditions – such as you were able to survive while making a living farming same.

      • David Murrell

There was a time in Canada when the average immigrant would (after a number of years) earn more than the average native-born Canadian. This was before 1975. Now, because of the huge numbers of Canadians coming under the family-class and refugee labels, the average immigrant will never earn as much as the average native-born Canadian. All this is verified by Statistics Canada data. So immigration is in fact driving down wages

160 acres – what, no mule?

        • Frances

Haven’t you seen the pictures of the Doukhobors when they first settled in southern Saskatchewan. Women harnessed to the plow; not a mule in sight.

    Euro Guido March 2nd 2016:
Remain campaigners Stuart Rose and Will Straw were hauled in front of the Treasury Select Committee today. The Britain Stronger In chairman received quite the lashing from committee chair Andrew Tyrie, who accused Rose of “intellectual dishonesty” and a “scandalous misuse of data”, in reference to BSE’s discredited claim that EU membership is worth £3,000 to every household in this country. Guido expects more of the Remain camp’s misrepresentations will be exposed over the next few months…
