“…The latest figures communicated to the Press by mounted police are unequivocal: the cost of the fight against terrorism today has nothing in common with that of the time of the war in Afghanistan and the hunt for Osama bin Laden in the early 2000s.
The creation of the Integrated National Security Enforcement Teams (INSET), dedicated primarily to terrorism investigations, was decided shortly after the attacks of 11 September 2001. For 2001-2002, the INSET shared a meager budget $ 2 million.
This budget has grown exponentially over the years, except for a slight decrease between 2009 and 2011. The basic working capital of these teams is however the same for over 10 years, 10 million year. But this basic amount is supplemented each year by an “internal redeployment” of resources drawn from elsewhere in the organization of the RCMP.
In 2002-2003, the police force had thus drew 3.1 million in its budget for other teams to come and complement the counter-terrorism budget. In 2013-2014, the reallocation had reached 22.9 million. In 2014-2015, it was 47.3 million that were diverted to other spending items to the INSET, which thus had a total of 57.3 million real budget, an absolute record for investigating terrorists from coast to coast.
You can bet the lion’s share is devoted to the Religion of Peace.
I wonder how much CSIS, CSEC, Canadian Border Services etc are spending on “Terrorism”
When you factor in the Syrian Refugee, Millitary and Aid expenditures the Cost of Islam runs into several billions.
What return has Canada received?
