Three-Quarters of SC Voters Support Trump’s Temporary Muslim Ban

Preliminary exit polls in South Carolina show widespread support among Republican primary voters for Donald Trump’s proposal to temporarily ban foreign Muslims from entering the United States. In New Hampshire, 65% of GOP voters back the proposal. In South Carolina, that number jumped to three-quarters of voters.

Forty-percent of voters support Trump’s proposal to deport illegal immigrants.

  • How temporary is temporary? Will Trump pass an hour or two mulling the matter over and resume immigration?

    • I hope not.

“Till it is sorted out”, if he makes good on that promise it means never, because there is no way anybody can sort that out.

      • Yeah, that’s the optimistic interpretation. I hope it is correct.

        • Bataviawillem

I agree that is optimistic, but one can hope.

I suspect that Trump used that phrase as a deliberate cover for an outright ban until somehow Islam is reformed.

          Until somehow reformed.
          Islam was built on murder.
          Christianity was not.

Christianity has had its dark times, but we got past it. I don’t believe that Islam is irredeemable, but that’s a very long-term project, and it’s NOT the West’s job. It needs a reformation, a repudiation of the viler sections of the Koran and its adherents, and that’s on muslims themselves.

We can be a safe haven for ‘apostates’ to speak out and organize, for those who want to join modern civilization, but we do those moderates no favors by letting both them and us be swamped by large numbers of muslim immigrants who don’t want to integrate.

And as I said, this is long-term project. Maybe not as long as it took Christianity to change, due to improved communication technologies for spreading ideas, but it’ll still be multi-generational. The West’s role is to NOT try to make it come about in a time frame convenient to our next election cycle, intervening in the ongoing and long-running Islamic Civil War and imposing temporary puppet regimes for short-term geopolitical points.

For now they are only going backwards.
Look up photo’s from Kabul 1960 and you will see.

          • V10_Rob

            Same with 60s Iran.

          • Bataviawillem

Yes, they where actually further ahead as Afghanistan, but it is a toss up which one moved further back.

    • dance…dancetotheradio

Maybe it will be as temporary as the income tax instituted after the First World War.

    • Minicapt

No, for something of this importance, he’ll need to give it at least two rounds of golf, at a Trump Golf Course.
