Saudi Arabia sends troops and fighter jets to military base in Turkey ahead of intervention against Isis in Syria

Saudi Arabia is sending troops and fighter jets to Turkey’s Incirlik military base ahead of a possible ground invasion of Syria.

The Turkish foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, confirmed the deployment in a statement to the Yeni Şafak newspaper on Saturday, days before a temporary ceasefire is due to come into force.

Hmmm… Limited Nuclear War Within 18 days as Saudis (and Friends) mass 350,000 troops, 20,000 Tanks, 2,450 Planes, 460 Helicopters for Syria Invasion

I am not sure how reliable or effective the Saudi Army will be. Sunni is as Sunni does.

The Turks will do the targeting and get the Saudis to bomb the Kurds.

    • I am curious to see if they will actually commit ground troops. I doubt that will be the case.

      • Exile1981

        They’ll commut saudis ground troops.

      • tom_billesley

They’ll need some ground troops to gather up their share of the slaves.

I doubt they will do anything more than threaten. if they go in I think they will find it was a mistake.

    • I am betting the Saudis won’t, I suspect their army to as reliable as Iraq’s.

Why the “West” are supporting the Saudis and Turkey – the worst people on the planet – is beyond me.

    • I agree there are no “allies” when it comes to Islam.

Linking to Superstation95 (a fake news website) does not increase the credibility of this blog.

Probably at least as accurate and unbiased as the “Puffington Toast”.

Is it just me or is the Russians’ threat to use nukes rather frightening? They are probably bluffing but if they did that then inevitably, theirs would be countered by more of the same. Personally, I’m old enough to remember those stories of nuclear winter….

    • I think it is a bluff. But then so is the Saudi bluster.

      • BradThomas

Probably true on both counts. But I think that the Russians are dead serious about maintaining their newly strengthened position in Syria. To what lengths they would go to do that – who can say?

I didn’t read any of the links so they any make it clear there, but I think it is important to note that Incirlik is really an American base.

    • Minicapt

… rented by the Americans, but remains Turkish-owned and operated.

I’m assuming that the first sound of a gunshot the Saudi’s will panic and quickly strategically retreat.

  • 945dad21

Well, that’s interesting. Apparently Vlad has intimated that if they persist he will hit them with battlefield (low yield) nukes. Go Vlad, it really doesn’t matter what flavour of Muslim they are; the fewer the better.

I think the SuperStation95 rdio link is not that reputable, if it claims that Saudi allies could mass 350,000 troops and 20,000 tanks at one airbase in Turkey. If one adds up all the tanks in the allies’ in inventory, the total is far less than 20,000 tanks. No “invasion ” is going to happen period.

Also the turks are reliabllity full of shit, as are the saudis
