How seven years of Obama created Trump

America has been run for nearly a decade by a clever incompetent. It’s hardly surprising that the voters are revolting

The morning after Barack Obama was elected, in November 2008, I put the television on in my hotel room in New York to watch the reaction. Fox News was putting on a brave face, though the sourness and anger were barely contained: but MSNBC, an avowedly liberal network, was in a state of almost convulsive ecstasy.

Lamont may end up creating a lot worse.

Obama may have accelerated the process (and Reagan paused it for a while) but the disenfranchisement of the blue-collar guy has been going on for a long time.

Obama was a wet dream for stupid, White, upper class liberals. When he was handed the Nobel Prize by those same stupid White liberals barely a week after becoming president, I just cringed.

Quick! He’s Black! Give him a Nobel Prize!

Obama had but to fart and White liberals would grace him with an honorary Doctorate

If the Americans were serious about saving their republic, they would have started after Roosevelt’s New Deal. Instead they have been swept up in a toxicromance with socialism and corporatism…Obama is simply the latest symptom. I don’t know if Trump or Cruz can turn things around, or even if they particularly understand what needs to be turned around, but it will be interesting in a slow-down-to-look-at-the-car-crash kind of way to see what happens next.

Same deal in Canada. Harper didn’t do nearly enough to stop the decline and the electorate was seduced by the Liberal team mascot…kind of like a horse running back into a burning barn. It will be ‘interesting’ to see the backlash in Canada…assuming it ever comes.
