Trump lost Iowa – not the nomination

Even Reagan lost Iowa. It’s a long road ahead.

Coming in 2nd to Cruz is not that big of a deal, I’m okay with that and I halfway expected it.
But that sawed off little prick RUBIO coming in THIRD and at ONE POINT BEHIND TRUMP is Armageddon time.
A strong Rubio showing is VERY BAD NEWS.
    It really is.
I’m talking “death of The Republic” kind of bad news.
This is an extraordinary bad development.

      Rubio is an amnesty hack.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

He’s absolutely a lying sack of garbage.
I’d vote for Hillary or Sanders (if only to hasten the end) if Rubio was the GOP nominee.

        • Admit it, you just don’t like Puerto Ricans.

      • If the Feds didn’t enforce their own immigration laws that’s the fault of the Government. They winked at the law for so many years that many of the illegal immigrants have been here long enough to have native-born children. Their children are U.S. citizens under the constitution (in fact Ted Cruz doesn’t have the same claim to “native born” as they do). What are you going to do, deport the parents and leave the kids behind in the U.S.?

        • BillyHW

          Deport all the invaders.

          • You seem to be confusing Mexicans in the U.S. with Islamists in Europe.

          • BillyHW

Go back to Mexico you law-breaking parasite.

          • My roots here go back 450 years — the only people who have been here longer than families like ours are the Indians. So when did your family arrive, about 50 years ago? Go back to Britain — was it the free dental care? Mangiacake.

I understand that Rubio is saying what his big donors want him to say. How does that work if he actually wins? Do the donors matter so much after that?

      • Drunk_by_Noon

If they didn’t matter after election, we would have had a wall 30-years ago.

  • Brett_McS

Cruz won Iowa while promising to can the ethanol mandate and Trump lost while proposing to extend it. That restores some of my faith in the American voter.

  • Brett_McS

    íJeb!

    íJa ja ja!

  • BillyHW

Bernie Sanders is the angriest old white man in this election campaign.

If Cruz wins the nomination and looks like he has a good chance of winning the election, the Democrats will crush him as a foreigner. Just because the Repuclicans let slide the fact that Obama used a fake social security number and was educated in Indonesia (which he couldn’t have been if he was an American citizen), etc etc, will not stop the Dems from fighting tooth and nail over the fact that Cruz was born in Canada.

  • David Murrell

    Rubio did well. Go Rubio!

  • Rubio’s and Trump’s speeches were both good. Cruz sounded like a windbag and gave a sermon that was way too long. On the Democrat side Sanders gave a good speech (even though it was a commie revolution speech), and Hillary was the windbag. The two “winners” were the two losers. Not that I’m opinionated or anything.

The important thing is that Trump has proven that his supporters will actually show up and vote. He isn’t the Howard Dean of this election cycle.
