Ooops… Russian bombs damage British-funded bakery designed to help 18,000 Syrians

Russian warplanes severely damaged a British-funded bakery in northern Syria a few hours before the facility was due to start providing food for 18,000 people.

Hundreds of civilians have been killed by Russian air strikes since the onset of the Kremlin’s intervention on Sept 30. The targets of Russian bombs have included mosques, field hospitals and schools – all of which should enjoy protection under international humanitarian law.

I have my doubts this was an accident…

I’m so jaded that I’m ambivalent about such things.
It’s even money that the bakery would have been feeding jihadis and their families too, so whatever…

  • Where are your blanket factories so I can bomb those too.

  • TerryA

Where are all the protests about civilians being killed? I can only imagine the outcry if Israel was doing this stuff. But…I’m kind of jaded as well. I believe a major war is inevitable. A big freakin’ war too. JMO

Only Israel and America get held to such lofty standards.
Twenty years on we are still hearing about the “aspirin factory” or was it the “baby milk factory” or maybe they were just doing some dual use shit and the factory was owned by some unsavory types that needed a JDAM gift basket?
In any event, some a-hole would have already put up a site called ‘American civilian death toll body count’, or ‘the day the unicorns cried’ or whatever nonsense.
      Screw ’em all!
Brightly colored cluster munitions for everyone!

      I hope so, and soon.

Seems like the Russians are asking the age old sales closer question:
“Would you like more bread or more bombs? Just make it worth our while by agreeing to a few simple conditions in our easy payment “no bombs” contract.”

    • k1992

Heh – when it comes to bread, we only serve white, but we do have a fine selection of bombs for you to sample ….

In macroeconomics, it’s the guns v. butter model.

    Big deal.

It appears that the Russians are fighting to actually win. This is a strange concept which is confusing to the West.

Who really cares? First off is that it is far more likely that these places were Islamic HQs or had weapons stored there. In any case I don’t care; war is war unless the West is engaged then everything changes. Soldiers are no longer expected to win or even to defend themselves, and never forget about the bogus ridiculous law suits against the same soldiers afterwards.
