Dealing IS ‘Lasting Defeat’ Could Require Decades, Officials Caution

“Lasting defeat” has become a mantra for top U.S. officials when talking about the strategy to defeat Islamic State terrorists.

“We must, we can and we will deliver a lasting defeat to ISIL,” Defense Secretary Ash Carter told soldiers this week at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, using an acronym for the group.

Carter used “lasting defeat” nine more times during his remarks that day, and twice more a day later at U.S. Central Command in Tampa, Florida, talking about “the overall strategy to deal ISIL a lasting defeat.”

A quick defeat of IS would secure Assad in power and annoy Obama’s Muslim Brotherhood friends. Obama won’t do it. He’d rather continue with attrition until IS will agree to a sham power sharing agreement with those branded FSA.

If the political will existed, ISIS could be finished off in less than a month.
But I ask why should any Westren power sacrifice their sons, daughters and treasure, to do what any of the middle eastern countries should be doing themselves?
Better yet, quarantine that whole wretched culture and its people.
No trade, aid, nor travel would be the best, and least expensive course of action for the west.

As Trump points out, Gen. Patton could finish them off in days. So could the Israel Defense Forces, which is why, for all its rhetoric, ISIS will not attack Israel.

With the imperative of preventing them from invading the West.

Not going to happen without complete defeat by infantry(unlikely) the enforced separation of mosque and state and the forced reformation of islam itself. again very unlikely . Complete quarantine with strict immigration of only non muslim refugees is all we owe these barbaric cultists.

Stopping (and reversing) muslim settlement in the west is all we need to do to win. Who cares what they do to each other? It’s only a concern if they do it to us.

If the US could use its domestic resources, we could give the entire ME the middle finger. If it were up to me we would seal the border, drill like hell, cut off foreign aid, and anyone who left the country would be on their own.

“We must, we can and we will deliver a lasting defeat…”

Unless the Obama administration intends to be in power for the next several decades, they ought to drop the “We” and admit they’re just kicking the can down the road.

In order to defeat an enemy first you mist fight them, then you must be committed to fight them completely not just going through the motions, And most importantly you must IDENTIFY your enemy.

It’s easy enough to straighten out the migrant pests….simple logistics….load em up and ship em out.

The BIG problem is the fifth column… neutralise and eventually eradicate that threat requires new legislation and will.

Time to get heavy with the Imams…really lean on them….boot on neck style…cut the Polizei lots and lots of slack to discipline any malefactors….no work no food is a grand spur to obedience…vastly more punitive punishment for any civil disorder by the scheisskops….all Arab governments are to roll over on all their cells agents and provocateurs or face very serious repercussions immediately in trade banking immigration ….and so on.

Repeat as necessary for as long as it takes….

No rules of engagement against Isil. Suspend Geneva…we’re dealing with scum that make the SS look like choirboys….Exterminate the brutes.

Hell, GW said that 15 years ago. But, cut off one head and ten more sprout. You need to go to the source.

      The source is Islam.

There is nothing like a ‘Lasting War’— for profit.

    A ‘ Lasting Defeat ‘ for propaganda.

Has the USA ever actually WON a War?

  • Hard Little Machine

Obama doesn’t want to defeat ISIS
