Amsterdam’s sex workers: the unlikely victims of gentrification

A herd of pink unicorns peer into the window, clutching their phones and arguing about the best way to reach Leidseplein. Fascinating story. Haven’t a clue. All I remember is a time when I viewed ( as a 13 year old lass)glamorous photographs of ladies of the evening in Thailand and Hong Kong and thought I’d like to grow up to be like them. Is their safety ever guaranteed? Organized crime seems always to be involved whether prostitution is legal or not.
