New York Times Promotes Fantasy Tours to Communist Cuba

In 2015, more Americans traveled to Cuba than at any time since the Cuban Revolution took place in 1959. The Wall Street Journal reports that since President Obama began his opening to Cuba in December of 2014, travel was up by 50% and is predicted to triple in 2016. Tour companies are now reporting that many hotels are booked up through next December.

When do the fantasy tours to communist North Korea start?

I went to Cuba when I was younger and didn’t know much other than it was a cheap vacation with terrible food but unlimited drinks… Now that I am older and hopefully at least a little bit wiser I would never choose Cuba again as a vacation destination.

I gently tried to dissuade my aging and very ill parents that no – they would NOT receive better health care in Cuba – no matter what that hypocritical bastard Michael Moore put in his propaganda videos. I didn’t have the heart to argue strongly when each of them were dying (mom of cancer, my dad a few years later of heart failure) but it hurt terribly for me to hear them talk of what they felt would be a better system than the one serving them.

I work with people who have gone to Cuba for all in vacations.
      They disgust me.

svend robinson went to Cuba, picked up a male prostitute on the beach brought it back to Canada married it and then stole it a $64,000 ring. svend also tried to sue the government of the time after he claims he was hit in the rectum by a banana like projectile while protesting at a summit of some sort in BC. My old boss’s son caught his father in bed with a Cuban male prostitute at their hotel room and it ruined that family. Something queer about Cuba and communism. I have no truck or trade with those cheapskates that love Cuba for it’s cheapness.

Svend loved him some Pali’s, too.

            Queer is as queer does.

The red rag pomoting communism, you don’t say. It is just the normal.

The same paper that gave us Herbert Matthews who shilled for Castro during the revolution.

I would love to see all the old cars, though it’s probably not worth a whole trip.

    • Clausewitz

Cheaper to drop by the Meadowvale Town Centre during the August long weekend. That’s when they have their classic car rally.

      • Clausewitz

Here’s some oldies but goodies, including Mrs. Clausewitz.

        • dance…dancetotheradio

          Damn you, Clausewitz.
          That’s a gay test picture.
You might be gay if you notice the car before you notice the girl.
Sorry, but I this case I’m a flamer.
          No offense to Mrs. Clausewitz.
That’s just a really gorgeous car.

          • Clausewitz

You’re forgiven in this case. The car was for sale for about 40K, Mrs. Clause is not for sale at any price.

I’m not leaving my keys in a bowl by the front door, either.

        • Dana Garcia

Very nice! Love the oldie cars, before wind tunnels made them identical.

  • roccolore

Those tours won’t show the real Cuba, only the touristy areas.

On the plus side, there’s probably not a whole lot of Islamic terrorists down there.

Still, I’d pass. I hear Bermuda’s perfectly lovely, ditto Grand Cayman. And neither is a totalitarian Hellhole.
