Computer meltdown!!!

Hi All

Looks like my computer is having a nervous breakdown.

The hard drive seems to be on its last legs, currently it is on a check disk loop on start up.

I am sorta set up on a laptop but that is only a temp solution.

Thanks for your patience.

Blogging will be back to normal as soon as possible.

I once did a search for the new scouting group that is younger than cubs. Sadly they’re called beavers. The search result popped up just as the wife came into the room. I’ve never tap danced so hard in my life.

If you’re replacing the HDD, check out SSDs if you aren’t already running one. I use a Crucial 128G SSD for OS and numerous rotating storage drives. The performance improvement was incredible.

    • I think that is the way to go. It is time for a new box.

As someone in the computer tech support field …here’s what I advise….for anyone who is running a SATA HardDrive who wants to see the health of their hard drive – download and run the trial version of a program called “HD Sentinel”… the trial never seems to expire …. the program reads the “SMART” controller chip and displays a list of very interesting statistics:

    • Thanks!

      Thanks Marty.

100% performance, 90% health 681days of power on time and 925 days of remaining life. This hard drive has been on more flights and in more remote locations than my last 3 combined.
