Swiss missionary kidnapped a second time in Mali’s Timbuktu

Armed men kidnapped a Swiss missionary from her home in Timbuktu on Friday, nearly four years after she was abducted by Islamist militants from the same house, Malian and Swiss authorities said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility but Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) is active in desert areas north of the city and has a history of seizing foreigners and demanding ransoms.

In April 2012, militants kidnapped Beatrice Stockly and released her days later. She returned to her work as a missionary. A resident of Timbuktu who knows Stockly told Reuters she had again been abducted.

  • Nobody ever accused Missionaries of having any brains.

      Especially the Swiss ones are not known to be the swiftest on their feet, so to speak;
they spend most of their time on their knees. Her experience may come really handy.

At least, she has sex every 4 years.

    • FIREBRED

Much better than the usual diet of diced zucchini & carrots julienne.

      • Canadian

        Yikes!

        • FIREBRED

          What’s wrong with vegan?

          • Canadian

            Nothing has bacon in it!

          • FIREBRED

Who says that nuns would eat this; that’s why these
(zucchinis & carrots) are served diced & sliced, lol!

          • Canadian

            Oh! Ok.
            Don`t they use candles anymore?

          • FIREBRED

            They melted down, lol!

          • Canadian

            Hot cross nuns?

          • Lian Renaud

            Thats a good one!

          • FIREBRED

Funny you’ve mentioned that. Did you know that Swissair airlines is not allowed landing rights in Soddy Barbaria? Conversely, Switzerland is, or
was to my best knowledge the ONLY European country to not having any mosques and reciprocally denied the landing rights to Saudi airlines.
            LOL!

          • Lian Renaud

Thats inteesting, and all Swiss males are armed by law!
            The only country in Europe…
When they leave the army they keep their guns.

          • FIREBRED

I believe Sweden have had a similar law. Swedes used to be allowed to keep their military weapons after their service,
but I don’t know whether it is still the case now…

          • Lian Renaud

Sweden is in dire straits with the influx of refugees….do you know if Switzeland took many refugees?I havent checked.
Point is the Swiss have always maintained neutrality….the most alarming news items seem to concern the rest of Europe and its problems.

          • FIREBRED

I know about the problems Sweden found herself, by the idiotic liberal policies of their welfare state. they became a main “Mecca” for pislame asylum shoppers, however, the Swedish Citizens are getting a little tired

of the recent mussulman’s exploits there, so perhaps a shift to the right

in political views and resulting change of government could be coming

            there soon as well.

          • FIREBRED

I think Gary’s thread is open again, check it out.

          • Lian Renaud

Will do so but will have to communicate later as fading with exhaustion, thanks
            Get back to you later……L

          • FIREBRED

All right honey-blonde, sleep well. I’m kinda run-down myself, so I’ll probably will check some at Gary’s & follow you soon, to bed that is. Sweet dreams <3!!

          • FIREBRED

            To hot to candle…

          • Lian Renaud

Wrote a reply to you about Nichiren ….but that thread is now closed,so it did not post.
            Lian

          • FIREBRED

Yeah, I’ve noticed that. Gary probably closed it because it was really
getting overly long and hard to handle. Discuss puts the posts not
in order allowing to read replies and make sense of the conversation, so it’s in the best interest for all of us to enable everyone to find their
replies right under the post replied to. Anyhow, not to pressure you, but it really would make much easier, if you could allow me to follow you. for instance – I certainly would not Miss your post on Breitbart!
Tell me when you’re ready, and let’s make it happen!~ FB
Btw – did you read my reply translating the Japanese? Also, Gary was
kind enough to chime in and agreed with these translations; he weren’t sure what “bhikshuni” means though. I tried to explain to him, only to find out that the thread was closed. No biggie, though.
I’m sure it was not out of his ill will, just a matter of practicality.
Please reply here ASAP. I’ll be waiting! 🙂

A friend just posted this to me…
Seems to be a cross the board

I went to the temple on Mount Fujiyama,I learned a bit of Japanese for eight months with a book and a tape, the hard way….
My best language is Italian…some Turkish, some Japanese, some bastardised form of Arabic…however I do not practise so lose some grammatical forms…or vocab.
Well G thought I was a man on many occasion,I was offended as I explained I am female,he didnt believe me,then I moved house. When Offended I ignore….Do not confront unless face to face……
I notice that most females make a few comments, and thats it…whereas I can banter or keep a discussion going.Males on the otherhand seem to continue a discussion.
Dont know why there is such a difference…one of my subjects was International Phonetics…so I am used to languages.
Apologies to the site if off topic but posting info.
            Lian
