Al-Qaeda resurgence in Afghanistan as terror group sets up new training camps

Al-Qaeda training camps are popping up in Afghanistan sparking fears of attacks on the United States.

In October, US and Afghan troops attacked one of the terror group’s training camps in southern Afghanistan, which US Army Gen. John F. Campbell said was ‘probably the largest training camp-type facility’ seen in 14 years of war.

He also admitted the camp – spreading across 30 square miles in Kandahar Province and used by an offshoot of the terror group called Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent – was not in a place you would expect to find Al-Qaeda.
