Here is my pending comment, which they may or may not post. (To be fair Arab News is quite good about posting hostile comments. Much better than is, say, ABC. Probably braver than I’d be operating out of Saudi):
You know, guys, this is really pathetic. You’re not even pretending to try to sound like grown-ups. Tsk.
Although on reflection maybe you’re on to something. In fact, yes, I guess I could kind of dig this. Everyone who says something I disagree with is exhibiting “the same core characteristics of Daesh terrorists”. If I don’t like what you say, you are clearly exhibiting “the intransigence and disrespect” towards my feelings which is pretty much exactly the same as committing genocide, raping slave girls, sawing off heads, setting people on fire and blowing up the archaeological heritage of the Middle East.
I guess this is kind of a less subtle and more hysterical version of the famous Godwin’s Law [defined by Wikipedia as: an Internet adage asserting that “As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1″—that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or Nazism.]
