Turkey detaining and deporting refugees ‘with EU funding’

The European Union may be “complicit” in illegal deportations of refugees back to Syria and Iraq after striking a deal with Turkey to reduce the flow of migrants into Europe, a report has claimed.

Amnesty International warned refugees arriving in Turkey have been forced back to war zones, some into the hands of armed groups – and suggests EU money is being used for the operations.

According to the charity, the EU has allowed its funds to be used for equipment and infrastructure in Turkish facilities, from which refugees and asylum-seekers are being unlawfully pressured to return to countries like Syria and Iraq.

I’m not sure I see what the problem is…
