Why Has the Church Abandoned the Christians of the Middle East?

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, was interviewed recently about the Paris attacks and asked about his reaction. “Like everyone else – first shock and horror and then a profound sadness…” he replied. “Saturday morning, I was out and as I was walking I was praying and saying: ‘God, why — why is this happening?'”

Welby is the principal head of the Anglican Church and the symbolic head of the Anglican Communion, which stands at around 85 million members worldwide and is the third largest communion in the world — after the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church. This is a man with an extremely high public profile, and millions of Christians looking to him for spiritual guidance.

And now Archbishop of Canterbury will not lead the choir and congregation in a spirited singing of ” Onward Christian Soldiers.”

For the same reason there’s 9 dozen different Protestant sects. They don’t like each other and don’t care who dies screaming. They never have. And if you peer into some of the more leftward leaning groups you find they’re not religions at all. Merely non-profit social and political organizations that do the left’s bidding.

Fascinating, and highly imaginative. Too bad about “facts”.

Feel free to note your corrections. Or just toddle off to protest the name of a building or halloween costume or something.

          Somewhat well done …

          Cheers

  • “why — why is this happening?'” – imagine, this guy is so unintelligent he cannot even see the obvious that’s staring him in the face. Why the killing? you ask – because Islam is a murderous cult and the Muslims are out to take over Europe. With spiritual leaders like this one no wonder Europe is clueless.

I don’t care much for the pope at any time, but was particularly miffed when he visited America a few months back and couldn’t be bothered to mention the slaughter of ME Christians.

Jorge Mario Bergoglio is a pino.

Are there any Christians in the ME left alive outside Israel? Seriously, the last ones left Syria a few months ago. It’s been fatal to be christian in Iraq, Iran,Saudi Arabia and just about every other muslim controlled nation. The Kurds have been letting them into their territory but it’s not an actual country.

Christians have been religiously cleansed from their ancestral lands by the new mascots of the left. Christians now 2% in the west bank are being told by the PA to curb their Christmas festivities so as to not upset the rabid stink monkeys, and take publicity away from the Jew stabbing festivities.

This Pope is(and I speak as an RC) nothing more than a community organiser and social worker…..
Unless he’s playing a deep deep game(is he a Jesuit?) then OK but if not he’s a dope.

This Pope is surely cognisant of the Holy Church’s crucial involvement in Vienna 1683 and earlier than that at Lepanto….

The Church has changed considerably since the guten Alten zeit but the enemy has not changed one jot..

This Pope is aware of the Church’s crucial involvement in 1683 in Vienna and has probably been going around apologizing for it’s crucial role whenever he visits mosks and muslims, just like the socialist community organguzzler from Chicago.
