CIA-funded Afghan militia accused of killing civilians

An Afghan militia paid and equipped by the CIA has been accused of killing civilians and torturing detainees in a secret war against the Taliban and al-Qaeda.

The Khost Protection Force (KPF), with about 4,000 fighters, operates in a province that borders Pakistan and remains a stronghold of violent extremism. Although President Barack Obama has announced the end of US combat operations in Afghanistan, the CIA is still arming proxy forces.

While the US does have a history of arming the wrong guys, in particular when it comes to Islam, my alarm bell tends to go off when the media make accusations of whoever killing civilians and torturing detainees. The reason is that the same media never make such claims when the same and much worse is done by the terrorists/jihadists. So maybe it is true but just as maybe it isn’t.

Probably just a local culture quirk.
