Four Things That Will Likely Change After The Paris Terrorist Attacks

The horrific terrorist attacks in Paris that killed at least 129 people and wounded hundreds of others could have a major impact on political and social issues in Europe and other Western countries.

U.S. President Barack Obama described the multiple assaults on soft targets in the French capital on November 13 as an “attack on the civilized world,” and the deadliest terrorist attack in Europe since 2004 has already empowered anti-immigrant political forces, increased isolationism among governments, and heightened xenophobic sentiment toward Muslims.

Why would things change? The French gov’t is still going to bring in 30,000 Gues where they’re probably going to live?

  • Xavier

    1) Government will use this to attack right wing groups.
    2) Government will use this to restrict free speech.
    3) Government will use this to promote creeping sharia.
    4) Government will use this to pass special laws for Moslems.

Please, PLEASE read this link from the Ottawa Sun. We are officially on another planet….Blazingcatfur….you have to post this as a story. Classic lunacy!

So no more karate or judo, I guess.
      It’s not “multiculturalism”, it’s “mulitcompartmentalism”.

    • Blacksmith

Friggin leftards! They need a macro aggression to make an adjustment to them.

    • bargogx1

That “acting student federation president” they quoted comes across as a world class bullshitter.

  • Ron MacDonald

Nothing will change until every leftist government is swept out of power.

    • Billy Bob Thornton

All that would result from that is a world war and NATO ramping up.

That would mean an eventual conflict with Iran, North Korea, Russia and China, which I feel the US needs to protect its dollar.

      • David

If I may be so bold, I believe Mr MacDonald is referring to the leftist, progressive, social justice warrior govt’s that are infecting the west at the moment.

        • Billy Bob Thornton

All parties are progressive to a point so to suggest that parties can deviate from progressivism which is not necessarily a problem is quite frankly laughable because the left/right spectrum in a neoliberal world is the issue. I have long viewed that social justice is part of capitalism since capitalism mixes many systems together, but political correctness is just a vehicle of the right. Political correctness just means showing manners but anyone can speak boldly on their ideology. I mean, this whole debate about Islam has been hijacked by the right wing. The US should never have been allowed to launch their wars, but the Middle East has been problematic since WW1 with Sykes-Picot and the imperialist powers drawing their borders in the region. I do agree that the BRICS alliance is not the problem. I ask where does the money come from?! No one in the West has an answer for this, and the biggest proof of lack of consistency is there because ISIS has Toyotas and vehicles sent from the West. Don’t forget John McCain posing next to many fighters in the area. America and the West need many make-work projects with the death of manufacturing.

        • Billy Bob Thornton

A party cannot be libertarian if it is interested in war. Such a party means being authoritarian and for massive interventionism. Populist parties are also for such rhetoric to galvanize public anger for their own advantage. I have long asked cui bono because all this is leading somewhere?!

        • Minicapt

Mr Billy-Bob is giving expression to his own personally created ‘reality’. On occasion, he may veer in the direction that thinkers are taking, but such is seldom.

          Cheers

          • Billy Bob Thornton

Oh ya like the right engages in reality. They want to control the narrative, play the victim and they are controlled nowadays by religious fundamentalists and want total war and a clash of civilizations. I have read an article in the last little while showing that if the Republicans get in they would be likely to cause WW3. I wonder if God would approve of death. Most likely not!

          • “I have read an article in the last little while showing that if the Republicans get in they would be likely to cause WW3. I wonder if God would approve of death. Most likely not!”

Okay, Billy Bob, if you are trolling maybe step it up a notch. You need to subtle it up some.

          • Billy Bob Thornton

Well the article did mention that following the election campaign that the war with Russia would ramp up. I am not trolling. I am stating the facts with regards to the war in Ukraine and the fact that the sanctions would return if any Republicans were to return. Obama is bad but Republicans are worse. America needs a Nader-like figure. It is obvious to be concerned when the future looks so bleak.

          • Well you could link the article then.

          • Billy Bob Thornton
          • No, I have no desire to do that. But I gather it’s from Press TV, is it?

          • Billy Bob Thornton

            That is the Guardian.

          • So pretty much Press TV.

          • Minicapt

He does; and He’s waiting …

We’re going to need a detailed economic analysis of that.

Do Not smack the troll, he likes being beaten.

    • Blacksmith

It would certainly be a boon to the world were it to happen.

  • Surele Surele

Found today on my FB; pretty accurate. “Sun Tzu, generally considered a reliable source on Good War Ideas, said
something along the lines of, “You’ve got to know your enemy in order to
beat him, because some dudes hate being kicked in the junk and others
    seem to enjoy it.”

    • Billy Bob Thornton

Sun Tzu also says there are no winners of war and that war solves nothing. I think that is what is the truth about the Art of War.

      • Xavier

        You lie. Citation or STFU.

      • Surele Surele

        Try this: From
Thomas Wictor: American servicemen feared kamikaze more than anything,
because the notion of deliberately killing yourself in futile attacks
was so alien. The Japanese also had suicide bombers, suicide
infantrymen, suicide speedboats, suicide manned torpedoes, suicide
rockets, suicide frogmen, and suicide civilians armed with sharpened
        bamboo poles and hand grenades.

        The Japanese said
they would never surrender. Each battle that brought the Allies closer
to the Japanese home islands came with an increasing cost. In the Battle
of Okinawa (April 1 to June 22, 1945), there were 20,195 Americans
killed, 55,162 wounded, and 26,000 removed from combat due to “battle
        fatigue.”

        That’s a euphemism for psychiatric
collapse. The most famous case of the latter is a soldier who reported
back to his camp saying that he was wasting his time fighting because he
kept killing the same man over and over. This soldier was calm and
rational, but he explained that he’d killed the same Japanese five
times, and he wouldn’t stay dead. Though the Japanese soldier kept
changing his uniform and rank, it was the same man.Operation Downfall
was the code name for the planned invasion of Japan. The Allies expected
a million casualties. In preparation, the United States minted over
500,000 Purple Heart medals, the award given to those wounded in
combat.Instead of invading, the United States dropped two atomic bombs
on Japan, and the Japanese surrendered on August 15, 1945. The US
military is still using Purple Heart medals minted in 1945. They’ve seen
us through the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Panama, Grenada, Desert
Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

        • Blacksmith

Yup I see what you are saying, defeating Japan in war surely didn’t help the US or Japan in any way….. /s
By the way, I say well played sir!

          • dance…dancetotheradio

            Canadians are polite, too.
But, we have very dark hearts when we perceive a threat.
Ask the Russians who played in the 1972 Summit Series.

          • Billy Bob Thornton

The point of my comment which all of them do have purpose is war inevitably leads to future conflicts down the line and the simple fact is humanity is tied to its animal instincts and need for war. People are merely bystanders and are forced to accept the wishes of the military elites and political elites.

          • Exile1981

At this point war is inevitable. We can choose to prepare for it or we can be its first victims.

  • SDMatt

Change #1: Obama refrains from sending James Taylor back to France to once again serenade the afflicted with “You’ve Got A Friend.”

    Er, that’s it.

  • Icebow

Justin for president of Europe. All problems solved.

    • Alex

He would be a perfect fit, that’s for sure, but it’s really not fair for Canada to dump its garbage on Europe. He is a symptom of a sickness that pervades a good chunk of our (Canadian) society and we need to clean this up ourselves. If we succeed, then people like Trudeau will no longer gain prominence in Canada.

      • Icebow

I have Canadian relatives. Good luck with it.

      • Brian Jones

We won’t call it dumping our garbage, we’ll call it recycling.

Where are the answers regarding this on the matter of ISIS. I believe false flags do happen?! You clearly do deny this. Everyone has to stay on narrative and script to ensure their side wins. I know how the game works!
