The Paris attacks show why Europe needs to clean out its weapons-smuggling black holes

As a country that has already suffered its fair share of terrorism, last weekend’s horrific scenes in Paris have a grim familiarity to anyone on Britain.

Yet for anyone following Friday night’s carnage at the Bataclan Concert Hall, or January’s Charlie Hebdo attacks, there is one thing that distinguishes them from the likes of the July 7 bombings or the killing of Drummer Lee Rigby at Woolwich Arsenal.

And that is the fearsome nature of the weapons used – not meat-cleavers or home-made bombs, but Kalashnikov assault rifles, the kind of highly-efficient killing machines that should never be in civilian hands in the first place.

Another idiot who knows nothing about guns.

I love the one claiming that British gun control is a “safeguard”, never mind that those who “painted” Paris red on Friday had gotten their hands on the real thing through the black market and ignored France’s gun laws.

Wonder how that author is going to look if England gets its “Mumbai comes to London” overnight show…

The Telegraph has moved into a very strange world all of its own.

Way, WAY too late for that. Europe has overland transport. The same way these “refugees” get into Europe is also the same way for smuggled ordnance to get in, and overland smuggling is way simpler to execute than sea smuggling…

Schengen is mortally wounded. Time for the coup de grace.

So now we’re blaming eastern Europe, the only part of the continent to have enacted sane immigration measures.

If only AK 47’s were illegal in France, we could, have stopped this…

Didn’t they realize we progressive French didn’t care as long as long as they only targeted the Jews?

If one terrorist possesses an AK-47, then possession should be universal, at least to those of sound mind and clean criminal records.

I’m not sure how French gun laws prevented anything. Not that everyone should run out and buy 20 black rifles but doing something and doing nothing seems to have the same outcome.
