Picking people out of the sea is not enough, says Cameron as he vows to ‘smash’ people smuggling gangs behind migrant crisis

David Cameron today warned that rescuing drowning migrants from the sea Is ‘not enough’ and British forces will be used to ‘smash’ the criminal gangs behind the crisis.

Speaking aboard HMS Bulwark in Valletta harbour, the Prime Minister said the movement of millions of people was was ‘the biggest problem facing Europe today’.

He said Britain would have to show ‘resolve’ in tackling the problem, targeting people traffickers encouraging people to try to cross from north Africa to reach the shores of Europe.

Why do I reflexively roll my eyes whenever this guy speaks?

If he honestly wanted to solve the problem he would stop rescuing the invaders and start sinking the ships used to transport them in. When the success rate for crossings under 5% you’ll see these invaders looking for a different destination…. unless they are invaders and not refugees in which case you’ll see them still coming even when the chance is slim.

sink or sieze the boats .. got to run out of boats at some point
or is something else afoot here?

      ….money going sideways

      • Exile1981

So we have 2.4billion euros in that article plus the 780 million pounds sterling worth of goods destroyed by the invaders hiding in lorries. Plus the billions already spent on housing, clothing, feeding and rescuing them.

The cost of a torpedo is about 2 million euros for a top line one. with there being about one boat a day crossing. So say 350 boats a year.

That works out to a cost of 700 million euros; less than the goods destroyed by migrants in calias alone

no take them off ship sell it for scrap
some inflatables used are military grade Zodiac boats.. big $$$
and then they return to Africa?

          nope something else here

        • Raymond Cameron

A rocket-propelled grenade is a few thousand dollars and surely enough to sink a Zodiac or a small fishing boat.

          • mauser 98

tow them back then sink it

    • tom_billesley

I thought Lebanon to Akrotiri British Sovereign Base Area on Cyprus was a new route, but as yet there’s not been any boats after the two fishing boats that arrived three weeks ago.

Do it now , why waste more time if the invasion is by thousands in the future will be by millions .
