Paul Ryan Presaged: Canada’s Conservative Party Elects a New People—Which In Turn Elects Liberal Party. Duh!

Aaron Goldstein of the American Spectator noted that the crowd at Trudeau’s victory rally in Montreal chanted “Niqab! Niqab!” and predicted, “Those Liberals who chanted ‘Niqab’ following this election might be chanting ‘Shariah’ after the next one.”

Too true—but whose fault is that?

It would be tedious for me to write (and more so for Americans to read) an account of the various Muslim disputes that dominated the election. [Robyn Urback: The Conservatives bet big on the veil, and lost, National Post, October 21, 2015] Suffice to say that clever-clogs Harper, who believed he could triangulate between immigrants (good) and their often “barbaric practices” (bad) was beaten at every turn. That’s the problem with triangulation; you so often fall between stools.

The process whereby Canada would become rife with barbarians and their practices (female genital mutilation, honor killings and rapes, et al.) began in 1967, when the Liberal government of rumored KGB asset Lester Pearson effected the equivalent of America’s 1965 Hart-Celler Act. In 1968, the year Justin Trudeau’s father Pierre became prime minister, Canada’s population was only 2% vizmin and thus about 95% white (native Indians are not counted as vizmins). It was still a fundamentally conservative country. By 1984, the year Pierre retired, Canada was officially a Leftist “proposition nation,” and opposition to the Liberals’ ongoing revolution was seen as un-Canadian, even treasonous.

Harper’s ambition, like that of Progressive Conservative Prime Minister Brian Mulroney (1984-1993) before him, turned out to be merely to co-opt this Trudeauvian state. It was the Mulroney Conservatives who raised immigration from 85,000 in 1984 to ~250,000 by the turn of the decade and ever after.

“Throughout the 1960s and 1970s Angleton privately accused various foreign leaders of being Soviet spies. He twice informed the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that he believed Prime Minister Lester Pearson and his successor Pierre Trudeau to be agents of the Soviet Union. In 1964, under pressure from Angleton, the RCMP detained John Watkins, a close friend of Pearson and formerly Canadian Ambassador to the Soviet Union; Watkins died during interrogation by the RCMP and the CIA and was subsequently cleared of suspicion. Angleton accused Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme, West German Chancellor Willy Brandt and British Prime Minister Harold Wilson of using their access to NATO secrets to benefit the USSR. Brandt resigned in 1974, after one of his aides was found to be a mole from the East German secret police.”

We now know that Olof Palme was “dirty”, and that Willy Brant knowing turned a blind eye to KGB espionage until that very scandal ousted him from office.
Although John Watkins was “cleared”, the means of clearing him are somewhat suspect and it sounds more like they never got to the truth because he died in interrogation.
If they determined that he was indeed innocent of any wrongdoing, then why continue the interrogation?
If he died before they could get any substantial information, then why clear him, if not solely for political reasons?

And Angleton was correct on all counts.

Like Joseph McCarthy, James Jesus Angleton was much maligned, and unfairly so.
He was so far ahead of most people’s understanding of counter intelligence that he was painted as insane.
Oddly enough, for a “crazy man”, he was feared by the Soviets.

Well, to quote Jacques Parizeau — it was money and the ethnic vote, especially the money.

What was it about 1965 that made it a banner year for really bad ideas?

Everyone is getting upset about the 25k Syrian “refugees” we are supposed to be getting, me included. but if we are getting 250,000 a year, we would be getting nearly 25,000 a month. now. of who half are probably muslims, and that was under a conservative government. I haven’t checked, but I saw somewhere that there are 10 liberal muslim MPs. We like to look at the situation in Europe and mock the stupid Europeans, but the situation is as dire here, already.

That 250,000 a year are ‘normal’ immigrants though, being processed through the system that (presumably, hopefully) is vetting them. In theory, IN THEORY, these will be perfectly acceptable newcomers once the system does its job (again, in theory).

The 25,000 ‘Syrians’ are a publicity stunt, a kneejerk reaction to a crisis du jour, gleefully hyped by the media. The left were adamant that we Do Something, and Justin is going to bring in 25,000 come hell or high water. No attempt to screen them for criminal background, employability, radical ties, or even if they actually come from Syria, just so long as they have the generally correct skin colour and accent. A chicken in every pot, and a SJW status symbol in every community. Within a couple months, the useful idiots will be thoroughly bored with Syrians and looking for the next new shiny, leaving the long term consequences to be cleaned up by someone else.

This is one of the big reasons I don’t read the newspaper or news magazines any more. Sneering, self righteous, know-it-all writing like this.
Fuck you asshole. Go get a useful job.

Society has already changed and we won’t be able to put the genie back in the bottle. I have a buddy who’s a COP who tells me whenever he traffic stops a female wearing Mo garb he immediately calls for a female officer to attend to speak to the woman lest he be accused of anything.
