British mother: ‘I desperately want to be reunited with my son’

A British mother who lost custody of her son in Dubai will mark the two-year anniversary of the last time she saw him with a protest in London.

Afsana Lachaux says she is the victim of the Islamic legal system in the United Arab Emirates, which saw her ex-husband granted a divorce and awarded custody of their son Louis, now five, after their marriage ended acrimoniously.

Her former partner accused her of abducting the child when she failed to take him to a court-ordered access meeting. Ms Lachaux said she did not turn up because her husband had been abusive towards her and she was too scared. He denies the allegations.

She should have used Mohammad as her moral compass as that Ruthless Truth guy does in a witty post at:

I generally dont care about most divorce issues, in this case I would tell folks to not marry foreign irregulars who maintain citizenship and residence in an objectionable nation. The Hague Treaty is nice, provided you are dealing with white people. Just remember we told you so about your husband, you just would not listen. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Brits abroad seem to think they still have a bubble of the British legal system around them. How quickly disillusion sets in.
