Death to Capitalism? Visitors to Marx’s Grave Balk at Fee

HIGHGATE CEMETERY, LONDON—On a summer visit to the grave of Karl Marx, Ben Gliniecki found that he would have to pay £4, or about $6, to pay respects to the man who sounded the death knell for private property.

Mr. Gliniecki, a Marxist, said no.

Why isn’t that grave vandalized fortnightly?

  • Clausewitz

Paying to get into Marx’s grave? Oh the Irony. Too bad the left’s too stupid to figure it out.

Even worse. How come THE Marxist socialist pays to be buried away from the proletariat and in a special graveyard?

  • Xavier

    I lol’d.

Highgate Cemetry is amazing and well worth a visit for its Victorian funereal architecture. I admit I haven’t been there but I have only one life and it’s running on low. It is divided by a road between East and West. Marx is in the East but the interesting stuff is in the West.
