Would Obama Pardon the Rosenbergs?

In its latest fit of leftist madness, the City of New York again displayed its colors when its City Council enacted a resolution honoring convicted and executed spy Ethel Rosenberg on the centenary of her birth. The council declared September 28 “Ethel Rosenberg Day of Justice in the Borough of Manhattan.”

When will they free Jonathan Pollard?

      Right after he dies.

  • Ron MacDonald

I wouldn’t put it past him pardoning them posthumously.

He would have helped the Rosenbergs, just like he helps his terrorist buddy Bill Ayers

  • The Soviet Communist Party officially denounced Stalin after his death. Then years later they officially “rehabilitated” Stalin — from beyond the grave. Then Chinese Communist Party officially denounced Mao after his death. And years later they officially “rehabilitated” Mao — from beyond the grave!

Unless you understand the Communist worldview none of it makes sense. But it’s actually quite logical. Communism is utopia to the true political believer, hence it is infallible — the same way that a religious believer understands God to be infallible. In other words the Communist State replaces God and the concept of heaven in terms of how we define things like perfection, utopia, infallibility, etc. Karl Marx in the Communist Manifesto stated, “religion is the opiate of the people” — Marx equated religion to a dangerous addictive drug that must be outlawed. Vladimir Lenin carried it a step further by defining the State as the only agent through which one can achieve Communist utopia — heaven on earth, with the State as its infallible “God”. Lenin institutionalized Marx’s “dictatorship of the proletariat” and the dictatorial Communist State does not make mistakes. Communism is never wrong — only some its followers were wrong, but they can be rehabilitated after death. A kind of parody of the Christian resurrection.

The “rehabilitation” of dead Communists like Rosenberg is a classic implementation of the Communist worldview. In the past, Western academics ridiculed it and aptly named it “historical revisionism”. But academics don’t read history books anymore and they don’t understand that politicians in the West are voluntarily surrendering to Communism. Voluntarily surrendering to dictatorship. Without a shot being fired.

He wouldn’t have pardoned them. He wouldn’t have needed to. They wouldn’t have gotten to trial, and besides weren’t they deserving of some medal for heroism?
