Russian bear pokes Canada – what will Trudeau do?

As a G7 country, Canada’s voice and actions on the world stage matter and they have consequences.

Often, under Prime Minister Stephen Harper, moral relativists bemoaned the lack of UN engagement and suggested his principled and vociferous opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s annexation of Ukraine was mere political posturing. The annual Arctic Tour Harper started in 2006 was labelled a public relations exercise by critics who failed to recognize the importance of this coast to our nation’s sovereignty.

  • What will he do? Nothing. If Trudeau runs away from reporters, he’s not going to scare down Putin, the man who will take the Arctic.

    • Clink9

He’s just another pussy like obama. Where have all the real men like Margaret Thatcher gone?

    • dance…dancetotheradio

      Yes, the answer is fuckall.

      • mobuyus

I think sweet-fuckall might be more accurate.

      • Imagine the Inuit on their own.

Then imagine some jack wagon taking their hunting rifles, their only line of defense against bears both polar and Russian.

    • Alain

What will he do? Perhaps he will decide to stand to pee instead of sitting.

      • FactsWillOut

Unlikely. That would be letting down his base.

      • No. Sitting.

To the winner goes the spoils.

The disastrous fall of the three great western empires in 1918 brought us the birth of fascism and socialism, and these ideas have polluted the very wellspring of western thought.

There seem to be 4 players trying to fill the global power vacuum:

    1. Western financial elites/globalists NWO types, who like to use (2) as a pretext.
    2. A budding caliphate.
    3. A budding Chines military/economic hegemony.
    4. A budding Christian Russian Empire.

    Take your pick, folks.

    • The last time Russia had a budding Christian empire was during the time of the Kievan Rus.

      Never trust a KGB agent.

      • FactsWillOut

        Russia has a state religion.
So does Canada, as evidenced by the recent election.

Putin isn’t a KGB agent, and the USSR is no more.
Also, ex-military intelligence operatives make better leaders than ex-lawyers.

        • Once a KGB agent, always a KGB agent.

Comparing Putin to Obama and Trudeau, they will come up short every time (actually, they come up short next to a box of Kleenex but I digress). When faced with bad choices, the object shouldn’t be to embrace one bad option over another.

There should be no state religion. Britain and Iran have them, too, for perspective.

” When faced with bad choices, the object shouldn’t be to embrace one bad option over another.”

            Embracing Harper was exactly that.

          • Who, then, was his better? Trudeau?

          • FactsWillOut

Trudeau is worse, but Harper was still bad.

          • It was Harper or him.

            Now you get PM Trulander.

You might just get your Russian invasion after all. Start learning the language.

          • Clausewitz

Just like there is no such thing as an Ex Marine. There are only “former” Marines, but at heart they are Marines forever. Same goes for Former KGB Personnel, and especially the Former Leader of the KGB.

          • Exactly.

Methinks Emperor-4-Life Justinian1 will offer some very expensive BC Gold to toke up with Mr.Poutine

A pretty Sun News reporter put Justun to flight, I’m sure Putin can do better.

  • DMB

Justin projects weakness to a severe degree meanwhile Putin projects strength as a leader. There is no way someone like Justin could ever be a leader of a nation like Russia since Russians respect strength while they scorn at weakness to the point were they will become opportunistic and exploit another nations weakness. The fact that Canadians elected one of the most weakest leaders on Earth speaks volumes about Canada. Justin is far more weaker than Obama. Expect in the near future Russia to take provocative action against Canada by sending war ships into Canada’s North West Passage to test out Canada’s reaction. Justin in his never ending soft approach to everything will not only do nothing but make every attempt to appease Putin. Justin represents how soft and decedent we are in Canada especially in such dangerous times we live in.
