Best International #Elxn42 Headline: Canada boots out Conservative PM for a Pope bashing Liberal

“CANADA lurched to the left last night when the Liberal Party ended nine years of Conservative rule by winning decisively in the country’s general election.”

  • kkruger71

“We beat fear with hope. We beat cynicism with hard
work. We beat negative, divisive politics with a positive vision that
brings Canadians together. Most of all we defeated the idea that Canadians should be satisfied with less.”
Honestly, how can someone say more without saying anything? And how can people still fall for it?

    • Beats me.

      • andycanuck

        [Beats me.]
That’s what the Christian convert said!

    • pike bishop

Well, the Canadian media did work hard for him. Dropping the Gagnien/TPC story in favor of the death of Ken Taylor obit. was a master stroke of timing.

    • Fear?

As in fear that Yazidi women feel when they know no one is coming to save them?

      THAT fear?

      • FactsWillOut

        Putin is saving them.
        NATO wasn’t even trying to.

        • Putin is preparing for a pipeline.

The Kurds are trying to save everyone else.

          • FactsWillOut

            Break out a map.

Tell me from where to where is this Russian pipeline going? Oh wait, it’s a Saudi pipeline that Assad said “no” to, and that’s why NATO wants Assad out.

Also, the Kurds are merely other Muslims fighting to survive against the western-backed rebels who are slaughtering Christians (and Kurds).

          • Putin needs a pipeline in Syria.

I know he isn’t Obama or Trudeau the Sock Puppet but his reasons are his own and they are mercenary.

          • FactsWillOut

So, they think a pipeline from Iran across Iraq is Russia’s goal.

The idea is patently absurd, as is this sttement:

“The United States must stand firm and use the crisis to begin to mend relations with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and other traditional allies in the Middle East, with which ties have been frayed by the tumult of the Arab Spring. Turkey, at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, stands the best chance of playing an honest broker role in gas transit and ensuring, with U.S. support, that all gas suppliers in the Middle East have the ability to freely export and transport their valuable commodity.”

          • Putin wants a pipeline.

This really can’t be spelled out any better.

Do you trust a KGB officer over everyone else? When was the last time the Russian government spearheaded a massive humanitarian movement? If Putin can freeze old ladies to death (as a “Christian”), how hard is it to turn a blind eye to one of the worst Islamist threats in the Middle East?

          • FactsWillOut

            From where to where?
Ahh, now not giving away gas for free is freezing old ladies to death. Sheesh!

          • No one said giving anything away free.

This is the Russia you support.

    • FactsWillOut

“Most of all we defeated the idea that Canadians should be satisfied with less.”

Pure genius, right up there with “Chocolate rations will be increased from 30 grams/week to 20 grams/week.”

      Always Be Closing

    • The most irritating and misused word in the Trudeau lexicon is “divisive”. Politics is in fact supposed to be divisive, unless you have a One-party State. That’s why we have opposition Parties. What Trudeau describes as “divisive politics” is what Political Scientists would describe as “pluralism”, e.g.: NOT Cuba or North Korea. Although there are some issues that generally unite us as Canadians, such as singing the anthem, respecting the flag, recognizing Canadian sovereignty, or publicly swearing allegiance if you become a citizen. The very issues that unite us in our unique Canadian identity are the issues that Trudeau uses to divide us — openly swearing allegiance to obtain Canadian citizenship is not only “divisive” to Trudeau, but it is also apparently “disgusting” (another of Justin’s favourite misused words).

      • Is it divisive when I think the mad theocrats in Iran should never be dealt with?

    • Surele Surele

it worked for Hussein, didn’t it? Masses do not comprehend that empty speech is just that; an empty, vacuous air exhale by demagogues of all times.

And, to quote G. Jonas: “The prevalence of intellectual error also entails a broad community of
assent, the approval of those who have been “educated . . . beyond their
intellectual means” and who provide support for the left-liberal ethos
      that dominates the contemporary sensibility”.

    • Xavier

That reads just like Obama’s propaganda from ’08. Words without substance, emotionalism without goals. There’s nothing there.

      • kkruger71

Very true. Pretty much the exact playbook, just without the race card.

I noticed a front page photo of Justin and his family which made me wonder what he stands for.
He wants all his MP’s to be pro-choice along with the Liberal imagine of being against racism , homophobia , misogyny and supporting women rights and equality for employment.
But the photo has him with an attractive non-feminists heterosexual wife that doesn’t work while she is a stay at home mom with 3 kids. So basically, a Liberal male can marry a Heterosexual non-feminist White women and force her to have several children and stay at home to raise them as the Media gives them a pass for not marrying a non-heterosexual , non-white , Feminist, pro-abortion and self-employed person .

Oh well , no big shock because Justin claimed the Liberals denounce islamophobia and racism but is now pulling out our F-18 planes from the fight against ISIS where Syria had previously seen over 200,000 BROWN people and Muslims slaughtered in a civil war while today it’s still BROWN people and mostly Muslims seen as apostates being killed.
To Justin, taking in the refugees caused by the slaughter and war by ISIS shows he’s not an islamophobe while he see Harper trying to stop the slaughter as the Islamophobe .

    • Liberal means hypocrite

      • unalien

        Liberalism is a mental disorder..

    • andycanuck

He’s also making the Air Force decision before he’s received any security briefings. (As someone more intelligent than me pointed out recently, probably a BCF commenter.)

      • Clink9

So true. He doesn’t know shit from Shinola. It’s all about feeling good and looking good.

      • I’m sure even Obama quietly chuckled to himself after he received the earth-shaking phone call from the precocious “boy wonder” announcing the policy change (three months before Trudeau is even sworn in. What if he dies in a skiing accident?). It probably reminded Obama of his own younger days as a “hopey-changey” newbie:

“Boy, does this kid have a lot to learn”.

Although publicly, he probably said to Dustin, “this is devastating news Dustin, how can the United States of America possibly win the war against ISIS without Canada’s six jets and one fuel tanker?!”

    • dance…dancetotheradio

I disagree with the reasoning behind pulling out the planes.
And that is the only thing he will ever do that saves money.

  • ontario john

Well, the little drama teacher did say protecting Christians first was disgusting. The devotion to Turdeau from the media the last couple of days is nothing short of disgusting. You would think the next coming of Jesus Christ had arrived. I thought Robert Fife at CTV was going to have an organism praising him. And the vilification of Harper by Turdeau and the media after the election is pathetic. Heather Mallick’s rant in the Star today was over the top. Its a wonder the media isn’t calling for a war crimes trial for him.

    • kkruger71

Had to go read it after your comment about Mallick.
“…sang O Canada to the baby, naturally replacing “sons’ command” with “daughters’.”
Naturally? No, that has to be forced in there. It doesn’t fit “naturally” into the beat. It doesn’t fit “naturally” into memory after decades hearing it the way it was written. It doesn’t come “naturally” in a language where 99.9% of things written in it has always used the masculine noun as default.
“Naturally” she has to lie even about an inconsequential detail, even in an column where she can gloat as much as she likes.

    • pike bishop

I watched CBC as a patriotic duty. Patriotism is not easy sometimes. It looked to me like Wendy had to have the camera pan off her as she was, for lack of better words, losing her shit.

  • The battle is between us who give room to to speak and those who want them to shut up.

    So, let battle resume.

  • FactsWillOut

Trudeau and the pontiff are on the same side when it comes to letting a violent horde into the country.

  • Ed

Canada is just a prop in this Narcissist’s life drama.

    • pike bishop

A third generation criminal from Quebec. Thanks Ontario.

  • dance…dancetotheradio

There’s only one thing I want, truly, from this incoming horde.
    An abortion law.
We don’t have one and the Conservatives could never touch that third rail.

    • pike bishop

We are likely to see one. Abortion is allowed until 16 weeks after labor.

    • FactsWillOut

I’m sure we’ll get one along with the FGM doctors.

  • warrenzoell

Oh Trudeau, you are my density.
