Ontario will be Trudeau’s Downfall #elxn42

Ten and one half weeks of hard fought local politics have played out in 121 Ontario ridings against a backdrop of assorted national issues ranging from international trade agreements to face coverings. At the end of the day politics usually works itself out at a local level when everything else is equal.

  • Ron MacDonald

CTV News anchor was nearly jumping for joy last night when she reported that Trudeau was probably going to win the election. The first 5 minutes of that newscast was devoted to encouraging low-information to abandon the Conservatives and vote for a winner.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

Did she also sing: “Don’t be stupid, be a smarty, come and join the Nazi Party”?
I bet she would if it scrolled across her Teleprompter.

      • David Murrell

CTV News is corrupt, and has biased their entire news coverage to strongly favour Justin Trudeau. They (and CBC News and the Globe and Mail) are trying to create a bandwagon effect to help Justin Trudeau win a majority government.

        • Clausewitz

Don’t forget Global and City. It’s just one big goat rodeo of Liberalized sucking off.

    • Glenfilthie

The bubblehead is probably right, Ron. It has gotten absolutely stupid out there. Here in Alberta the morons came out to vote en masse and we got an NDP gov’t. The pink slips are going out, the taxes are going up and they are sitting around wondering how THAT happened…

      • Ron MacDonald

And they’re going to continue experiencing that for another 5 years after the NDP is defeated thanks to the damage it will have done to the Alberta economy.

        • Glenfilthie

If we’re LUCKY it will be five years! I can see it being easily double that…:(

          • Justin St.Denis

Yup, Albertans will have an opportunity to shoot themselves in the other foot in four years. They just might. Stupid can’t be fixed.

      • Clausewitz

Look on the bright side. When that happened here in Ontario, the next election gave us the common sense revolution.

  • ontario john

Unbiased CTV News network this morning had an interview with Wynne on how evil Harper is towards cities, and how wonderful it will be when the part time drama teacher is PM. You could see the drool coming out of her mouth at the thoughts of all that money coming into Ontario from the rest of Canada. I’m sure it will help the one billion dollars a month in interest payments Wynne owes.

    • David Murrell

One can imagine seeing the drool coming out of the flunky CTV interviewer’s mouth.

      • mobuyus

With the blowjobs the media has been giving the liberals, that might not have been simple drool.

        • canuckistan666

They are presstitutes, press prostitutes. Thinking of getting rid of my cable after the left-biased screeching from virtually all of the media

          • Justin St.Denis

You haven’t yet? You must be the only cable-connected conservative I have communicated with in years! 😉

          • Clausewitz

I only use the TV for NCIS, and Jay’s games.

          • Exile1981

You still have cable? I cut mine off 5 years ago, the kids missed the cartoon channels for about a month but after that not at all.

          • simus1

4k TVs are getting really tempting price wise at Costco. Fortunately there is still very little on cable worth paying for in any format.

          • Exile1981

We spend half of what we would have on cable each month buying dvd’s. You get to keep them this way and we have a better control of what the kids watch. It also means no commercials and the ability to take movies and shows with me to watch when I’m working out of a camp.

  • David Murrell

Good post by Lloyd Fornier. However I disagree. His points are well taken, as to the Ontario voter’s disenchantment with Kathleen Wynne. Having said that, Justin Trudeau’s election directors are all from Wynne’s election team, and the federal team is following the winning Wynne strategy carefully (bribe the corrupt national media; promise deficits and handouts to vested interest groups; curry the favour of ethnic Canadians; lie about future tax hikes).

It seems to be working. I predict a Trudeau majority. The Liberals control all the big media institutions, and have the support of the establishment unions and vested-interest lobbies. The fix is in.

    • mauser 98

vote splitting will have some effect
perhaps Cons will pick up seats in Quebec
report a while ago said the Sun King may not win his own riding

      • David Murrell

I hope you’re right. Some BCFers have posted that people voting Conservative might be misleading pollsters. It would be great to see the Sun god lose his seat.

        • mauser 98

i hope you are wrong.. then again you’re the statistician here

        • Clausewitz

I had a call from a robot poll. Press 3 for the NDP, press 4 for Liberal, press 5 for the CPC. When I pressed 5 it just hung up on me, not counting my vote.

          • David Murrell

Good news that. I think CBC News, CTV News and the Globe and Mail are the most dishonest, corrupt media out there — and all three have been pushing the “Trudeau is ahead” polls the hardest, in order to promote a pro-Trudeau bandwagon effect. It would be great to see the ordinary Canadian public stick fingers into the eyes of these sleazy media.

          • Exile1981

Back in 2008 I got a call asking me if I would vote Obama in the federal election. I pointed out they were calling Alberta area code 403. I talked to the nice guy and his system showed they were calling Florida (which is area code 407 among others). The system auto dials for them. So how many other Albertans got counted in an election poll for the US?

  • Brett_McS

I don’t know whether it is the same with Canadian opinion polls, but if conservatives are level pegging as the election approaches they generally win handily. The drooling media affect the opinion polls but not the real poll.

  • mauser 98

the Sun King not leading in all polls
EKOS , Angus has Cons in slight lead
Wynne’s Bolshevik horde of thugs (teachers) will try to change this

    • Clausewitz

Not this teacher. Straw poll from Thursday last week was 18 CPC, 9 Lib’s, and only 2 NDP. Seems they are actually listening in History class after all. That was the grade 12 Political History class.

      • mauser 98

        hope you are right

  • mauser 98

never understood Con ad saying the Sun King “not ready yet”
this trust fund brat will never be ready

  • Shebel

I just went down to local Convenience store
There was a big transport truck parked outside.
The sign on the side said “Harper’s Cartage”
I go inside the store and this rather elderly little Frenchman walks up to me and says in a very stern voice– ” If that is your truck outside than should move it I ”
Then he started to laugh. It was all very funny until I informed him that I really do vote Conservative. He could not believe it.
Well ,anyway— Guess you had to be there . It was pretty funny.
I like my Frenchie neighbours. Good people.

  • Shebel

If Justin becomes PM he will act just like Obama. Do the talk show circuit and then go overseas to stop the wars and all the while Saving the Planet.
    What a pathetic little POS.

    • BradThomas

It’s more or less a given that a Liberal or NDP government will screw up the economy – that would mean adversity and unpleasantness for a time but it’s something that can (in theory) be subsequently repaired.

But what I’m really worried about is muslim immigration: it’s been bad enough under Harper but presumably, with Trudeau, the floodgates will be completely opened. And that will be something that cannot be repaired – witness Europe’s disintegration ….

    • mauser 98

pretend to stop the wars by flooding the country with jihadis

    • pike bishop

The Obama example is showing a few frays. A lot of things could change even before the election.

  • Justin St.Denis

Girls of babysitting age will vote Trudeau, and so will the blind progressives who inhabit the echo chamber. I can’t see anyone with any real skin in the game voting Liberal or NDP. “Ethnics” will be split among all three main parties along the same lines as the general population. Racial minorities will favour whoever offers the most freebies, just like the white trash community.

Where all that will leave us is anybody’s guess at the moment.

    • Solo712

It’s definitely a generational thing. Mulcair’s stupidity on the niqab cost him Quebec (outside Montreal) but Harper will not get tto he spoils. The Libs are picking up the NDPs losses – because they promise throw around most money, a favourite “pot-de-vin” strategy in Quebec.

    • Clausewitz

      Here’s your backup……………https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDiVD-y_cUs

  • David Murrell

I plead guilty! It will be interesting to see how the Liberal government liaises with these groups, moving forward.

  • Bernie

Trudeau will lament ” We lost the Vote because of Ethnics with Money!” Bah haha hah! Just wait!

  • Minicapt

    Saanich?
    Only Green curry …

    Cheers
