Thousands rally at German protest against refugees, Islam

DRESDEN, Germany (AP) — Thousands of Germans took part Monday in a protest organized by the anti-Islam group PEGIDA, almost one year after it held its first rally in the eastern city of Dresden.

Police declined to provide a crowd count for the protest, which passed peacefully. An AP reporter estimated the crowd at about 7,000-8,000.

Speakers including PEGIDA co-founder Lutz Bachmann denounced the decision of German Chancellor Angela Merkel government’s decision to take in hundreds of thousands of refugees, many of whom are fleeing conflicts in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.

“They are leading us straight into a European civil war,” Bachmann told the crowd in front of Dresden’s famous Semperoper opera house. Protesters responded with chants of “Merkel must go” and calls to deport refugees. One protester carried a mock gallows with two hangman’s nooses, marked “Reserved for Angela Merkel” and “Reserved for Sigmar Gabriel,” her deputy.

Maybe Europe needs a civil war.

    • I would not be surprised if it happens.

Europe’s testosterone deficit will prevent that from happening.

    • Alain

That seems to be the only option left for the people.

        Key words: the people.
I don’t think they can recall when they were asked to be a part of the United States of Europe.

Actually the EU is more like the Fourth Reich. Heil merkel.

          • Justin St.Denis

The EU is the realization of everything Hitler ever dreamed of……

    • WalterBannon

      It does.

The media can’t be trusted for reporting the truth about rallies when it’s a group they don’t like or aren’t popular with the Party in power.

Take the pro-life rally in Ottawa where almost 10,000 people were there , the bias Media did tight shots on only a few people and cited the crowd at over 2000, this while they took the 15-20 pro-abortion malcontent feminists and made them look like a large group from the wide shot by different angles for the same group.
The media also tried to boast about a anti-ISIS by muslims out West in Edmonton that used a tight shot and didn’t give the true size of the group because is was pegged at 140+ which had lots of non-muslims among them. The Toronto anti-ISIS protest was worse for the LIES because less than 40 people came out while Toronto’s muslims boast there are 300,000+ in TO.
On the other side when there is a jew-hating pro-hamas/sharia
rally with over 2000 of these savages the media down plays it and shows about 40 protesters and doesn’t show the death threats on poster held by children .

    • Never trust the media.

It is a sad reversal of the role of the media, formerly at one time the champion of the people, now the propaganda lapdogs of entitled tyrants.

War is coming. It will start in Germany. The die is cast.

  • WalterBannon

So they are still working up the nerve to actually lynch Merkel.

Well they better get at it faster before the genocide starts.

Baring the rise of European leaders that actually believe in maintaining the security and character of the countries they serve, a civil war may be the only course of action the people can take.
