This election matters: Harper, Trudeau and Mulcair have different visions of Canada

The conventional wisdom that all politicians are the same and it doesn’t matter who we elect is flat out wrong in this closely contested federal election race.

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau and NDP Leader Tom Mulcair are proposing very different ideas on how they would lead Canada after the Oct. 19 vote.

While skepticism is warranted based on how often politicians break election promises, make no mistake.

The three major national party leaders are running on substantially different platforms.
