He identifies as “not religious, but spiritual”.
    Ain’t that a shocker!

Now do you agree with me that people that describe themselves that way are usually the most vacuous and least spiritually aware people that you will ever meet?
He should have listed his religion as “chaotic evil”.

    • He is one dead mixed up weirdo.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

The dead part I’m OK with in his case.

    • Kathy Prendergast

“I’m spiritual” generally means, “I want to get all the good things that come with being religious without any of the annoying obligations”.

If you worked in a place where you had to serve church people every Sunday for fifteen years you might climb off your high horse.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

Just out of curiosity, what’s it like serving “church people every Sunday for fifteen years”?
          What church?
I love food service war stories.

          • dance…dancetotheradio

            It’s not any church specifically.
            It’s the restaurant.
First time they put me on the floor was to serve the cheap church people who would come in for toast and coffee.
I was the rookie out on the fringe where the restaurant is usually the lounge.
Fantastically large tips of twenty five to thirty cents on their three to five dollar cheques.
Later, when I started working for the better suburban hotel in our area I got to run the Sunday Brunch.
            I didn’t want to.
            I was drafted.
            Didn’t get any tips there.
Everyone assumes the guy running the room is making the most money.
            He’s not.
I made my base salary in time served and no tips.
The servers who worked for me made more money than I did.

    • BillyHW

When I hear “spiritual, but not religious,” I’m like, “You played with a ouija board once, right?”

      • dance…dancetotheradio

I hear French Canadian grandmother who let her Dutch husband incestually abuse her daughters.
        See, it’s leaking out.
        My grandpa fucked his daughters.

    • Exile1981

I was at a school meeting and the new far left principal described herself as a “good christian” five times. Each time it was her way of avoiding answering a question about the new health curriculum.

He looks like he could be Obama’s son.

    • Frances

That could make the President’s narrative interesting.

Probably also didn’t have a father who was around either, like Obama. Just look at the name: Harper-Mercer. It’s one of those ridiculous, only-works-for-one-generation feminized hyphenated abominations. His mom probably burned bras in her day.

  • El Martyachi

If that really is his MySpace page, then he was an IRA (Irish Republican Army) supporter and identified himself as Irish Republican. There is a very, very big difference between them and the U.S. Republicans. Try doing some research before making it a headline you hack!

    • Frances

El – how did you figure that out? The bits I could see, I didn’t get that.

      • El Martyachi

Not me.. that’s a verbatim quote in entirety – see hyperlink.

        • Frances

El – obviously I am seriously deficient in computer skills. Went to the link above the photo and – a fair way down – saw what was supposed to be the posting with about 7 or 8 Anonymous posts (very small print). Tried to click on that to go further but ended up with someone’s analysis.

However, your comment re IRA was interesting. Never thought the IRA was overly religions (and felt same about the Protestant groups), but surely an IRA supporter would ask about RC’s, not just Christians.

          • dance…dancetotheradio

            What!?
            IRA are Catholic.

      • El Martyachi

But.. this is his myspace page showing IRA photos. There’s pretty much nothing else on his myspace page EXCEPT these photos.

        • Frances

Got it!! Was at the page with the turtles.

    • Just to be clear, it’s Chris Harper at Heavy you’re calling a hack, rather than our gracious host.

      • El Martyachi

To be even clearer, it’s not even me calling anyone a hack, but “Mike Lavery”…

        • Oh, okay. In my defense that wasn’t immediately apparent.

          • El Martyachi

I understand. It’s that time of the month. It’ll be OK.

  • I’m sure leftists are wetting themselves.

My friend is a professor in a state that allows guns to be carried. No problems there.

    Carry on.

  • UCSPanther

Doesn’t sound like this weirdo was playing with a full deck…

  • dance…dancetotheradio

I described myself as not particularly religious, but spiritual over the years.
I’m not that fond of organized religion due in part perhaps to my Catholic French Canadian grandmother who told me when I was eight that my mother wasn’t part of the family anymore after my parents separated.
She denied it to my sister’s face years later.
    ‘I never said that.’
    Yes you did you bitch.
I heard it then and know it as truth.
And that is why I hate French people.

People often remember … and forget.. what we want to.

      • dance…dancetotheradio

        You may have a point.
I have bubble memories of the most mundane things from my childhood.
Counting out my paper route collections on my bed in the near spring when the radio was playing Making Plans For Nigel is one of them.

        • Xavier

Dear God – I have that memory too.
The universe may actually be finite.

      • I don’t recall ever having done that.

        • El Martyachi

          It’s from the roofies.

  • Kathy Prendergast

Some commenters are saying that he converted to Islam last year. and that he was a supporter of the #blacklivesmatter crowd. That confused dating site profile of his could have been years old. Anyway who cares, the prick is dead.

    • Frances

We care: a fair few innocent people are dead, and more innocents are likely to be targeted as causing this unless the man’s motives are truly uncovered.

    • lolwut?

Dating profile might be a 4chan hoax.

  • Someone may reasonably claim to be spiritual but not religious. However, no one may truthfully claim to have been spiritual who ends up murdering people like this man did.

The killer is beyond vomit inducing.
The pictures of the “student body” in general are also thought provoking. Masses of lacklustre, ugly, and obese for the most part, young people who would not seem out of place in a large mental institution.
