Obama must join Putin on ISIL

In his is testimony before the U.S. Senate on September 22, 2015 former General David H. Petraeus, speaking truth to power, remarked that the crises of the Middle East pose a threat not just to regional stability but also to global stability and to vital interests of the United States.

This is particularly true of the morass in the vicious Syrian imbroglio into which Russia has now entered in an increased fashion in its attempt to bolster the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

Syria no longer exists as a state and the future of the area is unpredictable. The country has disintegrated after five years of civil war, with 350,000 people killed, millions who have fled or been displaced, and the loss to the regime of Assad of three quarters of the territory of the country.

  • “The central problem now is what is the most dangerous threat and what should be the main priority of the US and Western countries: ending the brutal Assad regime, or defeating ISIL?”

    Not true.

The real central problem is unraveling the Islamic cult.

One fifth of humanity is tied up in Islam. Everyplace Islam exists is a backward hell hole where “preachers” incite countless followers to commit violence in the name of the Islamic cult.

These brainwashed murderous millions are the problem.

We deal with it, or buy burkas for your daughters.

If Putin is not extra careful, he stands a good chance of getting stuck on the tar baby of the Sunni-Shiite feud. That is why Israel’s nonintervention, unless it is attacked or immediately threatened, is the best policy.

A “morass in the imbroglio”. Holy metaphors!

Putin’s short term objective is to make sure his Russian naval base on the Med in Syria stays open for business and that in turn requires keeping the Assad regime in power as his legal under international law compliant landlord. One would tend to expect (as has happened in Crimea and elsewhere) that as Emperor Barry and his clique of buffoons start giving the American election their “full time attention” in 2016 that Russia, China, and others will be trying to get rid of many formerly protected by America irritations that have vexed them over the years.
