Poll ordered by Harper found 82% support for niqab ban at citizenship ceremonies #elxn42

A public-opinion poll ordered by Prime Minister Stephen Harper earlier this year found overwhelming support among Canadians for the requirement that women remove their niqabs or burkas at citizenship ceremonies.

The March telephone survey by Léger Marketing found 82 per cent of Canadians favoured the policy somewhat or strongly, with just 15 per cent opposed. Support was widespread, but especially strong in Quebec, where 93 per cent were in favour of the requirement.

Mad Tom has 103 seats in Parliament, of which no less than 59 are in Quebec. To have any chance of forming a government, he can’t afford to lose any of those Quebec seats. And now the bearded bastard has stuck his neck so far out on the niqab issue there’s no way he can walk it back. I’m lovin it!

      I know!
Here’s to hoping that the election campaign has been one long rope a dope waiting for someone to make a mistake like this.

Why can’t we ban the niqab-wearers?

    • dance…dancetotheradio

      Because, love.

    • Alain

A government with a modicum of courage would ban them in all places in public like in France, and when our unelected judicial activists attempt to strike down the ban, the same government would use the not withstanding clause.

    • Mickey Oberman

      Politically incorrect.
Perhaps when the various levels see in the coming elections how many voters are opposed to the niqab and hijab and burka.
And that obscene volume, the koran.

Haven’t Sikhs killed more Canadians with acts of terror than Muslums?
They got a huge head start by blowing up airliners in the 1980’s.

        • dance…dancetotheradio

Well, the one’s that I know are quite tame.
          My kids orthodontist, for example.
          I fucking love that guy.
My orthodontist back in the day yanked three good teeth out of my head because there was no room for them.
This orthodontist wants to make room for all the teeth in my kids’ mouths.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

They lack the seething hatred of Muslums for you and I (I think) but they never have any intention of fully assimilating and actually becoming real Canadians.
I think at best, they are a neutral, but culturally I think they are a negative, but I am grateful they don’t all want to kill us.

One of my best friend for years was a Sikh-Lutheran half breed.
He’s not my friend any more because, well, he’s a fucking cunt.
I drove him to the hospital on three separate occasions when his asthma threatened to kill him and saved his life.
And the one day I needed help packing my furniture into a U-Haul to move to a new city he told me I was shit outta luck.
Funny, four years later we moved back and I still want nothing to do with him despite his best efforts to milk our common friends for information.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

Yeah, some people are just that way.
You did the right thing by cutting him out of your life.
I do the same thing with people like that.
When they try to hunt me down years later and want to resume being friends I tell them no, and then why I’m telling then no.
They two instances I have done that, caused both people to flip out.
            I don’t care.

Like the anorexic-bulimic girlfriend I let temporarily ruin my life twenty five years ago.
She could be so sweet one minute and then the next…
I thought it was especially dear when we got engaged and then one day she announced that she was having someone else’s baby.
I ended up living on my parents basement couch for a while after that wacky caper.

Ah yes, but she did not just have an eating disorder. Does the phrase, “I love you, I hate you, don’t leave me,” sound about right? She fits the profile of a Borderline Personality Disorder.

They are often hyper-sexual and sex-obsessed, have a history of sexual and emotional abuse, are promiscuous, moody, prone to rages, fearful of abandonment, have difficulty keeping a job, are manipulative, backstabbing, emotionally cruel, have eating disorders, substance abuse problems, and are prone to self harm.

The condition can be treated, and it does tend to get better on it’s own as the person ages. Untreated, they have a high suicide rate, and a shorter-than normal life expectancy.

Men often find relationships with borderlines to be very painful. It’s probably because it can have strong positive elements (loving, passionate, lots of sex, enlivening, spirited) and very negative elements (hostility, physical attacks, manipulation, infidelity, substance abuse, mood swings). The strong positive an negative things can create strong inner conflicts in the man.

Ultimately men are quite simple. They want a woman who looks pretty, is nice, and has sex a lot. If men get 2 out of 3 things, they are reasonably happy. If it drops to 1 out of 3, they are unhappy. At zero out of 3, the relationship begins to fail.

With borderlines, the man is slammed between 3 out of 3 to zero out of 3, many, many times. By the time they give up, they are often emotionally injured.

The forced public acceptance of their turbans and their kieran daggers set the president for the entire burka craze in the west.

Well if you’re drunk by noon, then get up later!

And yes, Sikhs have been a serious terrorist problem, especially B.C. However, as they will tell you, their culture came about because the Hindus were under constant attack from Muslims. The Hindus responded by establishing a warrior class, and those are the Sikhs. Even today, Sikhs prefer jobs that involve a uniform, from police to postman.

And many would not hesitate to fight with Muslims. So Canada has a hidden resource…

          • Drunk_by_Noon

Yeah, I have heard all of that years ago.
It still comes down to the religious and cultural accommodation we made for them paved the way for the demands of Islam.
Maybe they are mostly nice people, but they shouldn’t be here.

At the end of the day, they are still economic migrants.

          • El Martyachi

I’m OK with exceptions for Sikhs due to their historical military contributions as an ethnic group. That being said, back home Sikhs often shave their heads for police or military service.
If we weren’t such a bunch of faux-egalitarian fucktards this wouldn’t be a problem.

        • Alain

Not really other than the bombing of the Air India flight where most of the passengers were Indians. That does not excuse it, and it remains a national shame that our law enforcement and the courts screwed things up to the point that the guilty got away with it. What I and most still find unacceptable was the court ruling that allowed Sikhs in the RCMP to wear their turban instead of the required uniform. The reason being that joining the RCMP was their choice and they already knew of the requirements. In the BC it was the ridiculous provincial government decision to exclude Sikhs from the helmet law for cyclists. I disagree with the whole helmet requirement and I see red that Sikhs do not need to wear one due to their turban. This confirms that requiring every non Sikh cyclist to wear a helmet is not really about personal safety. Other than that the majority where I live (they are the largest non white group) do not cause problems and certainly are not a threat to us. A lot of the younger ones here are very much as Canadian as anyone and don’t wear turbans nor dress in “pyjamas”. So they are capable of assimilating contrary to Muslims.

It’s full blown Harper-Derangement-Syndrome on display in the CBC’s comment section.

The niqab has no place in Non-muslim countries.

It’s not about telling women what to wear, it’s about requiring people to show their face in public, never mind during any Non-muslim country’s CITIZENSHIP OATH.

    • Alain

      Well, it is the CBC.

And they do have the comments listed by ‘Most Liked’ as the default setting when you go to the CBC site.

Listing comments like that instead of in chronological order, newest first or oldest first, only serves to enhance the herd mentality.

        The CBC knows what works.

Yesterday (Thursday Sept 24) on the CBC News afternoon show, host Andrew Nichols panted and gasped, during an interview with a Quebec-based CBC reporter, claiming that the niqab issue is “9th or 10th” ranked amongst Quebec voters.

The big wheels at CBC News are a bit worried about whar’s happening in Quebec.
