Carbon price confusion

TORONTO – Whenever a politician or his party officials tell you their carbon pricing scheme will be “revenue neutral” — I’m thinking here of Tom Mulcair and the NDP but they aren’t the first and won’t be the last — ask them: Revenue neutral to whom?

The reason is that when they claim their carbon pricing scheme will be “revenue neutral”, what they really mean is that it will be revenue neutral FOR the government.

Not that it will be revenue neutral TO you.

Pro carbon tax politicians are telling electors something very important.
That they are con artists at best and thieves at worst.

….Earth at record low CO2 levels..many sources agree
“Worrying that 400 ppm is too high is like worrying about your fuel tank
overflowing when it reaches the 1/8 mark during filling”

So under Comrade Wynne’s plan we would pay California for credits in order for our industry and cars to operate. Makes sense, we already pay Michigan to take our hydro. But with socialists you can always depend on the old phrase, do as we say and not as we do. The new commie leader of the Labour Party according to the Globe and Smell, wants to open up all the coal mines that were shut down years ago.

If you import manufactured goods from China, you’ll have to pay for the carbon emissions of manufacture. It’s still your carbon, even if you’ve lost all the jobs.

Right. Both you and O-J raise good points. There is a small, but important media duscussion, concerning possible sleaze and fraud, concerning who pays whom and where the money goes. Harper is definately going to lose, which means that whoever wins (Trudeau?) will be setting up a carbon-pricing scheme, most likely in concert with that of BC and Ontario’s scheme. A carbon-price is like a carbon price, but it is harder to trace money lows with the former.

I think that Wynne’s plan is to drive all manufacturing out of Ontario so that she can lay claim to environmental improvements.

We are on the verge of the greatest green revolution our planet has ever seen. Carbon is plant food. More carbon means more life. Taxing it is absurd.

the marxists are pushing for a means to achieve the social license to tax the aior we breathe. this is behind the global warming fraud.; to get enough people to believe and embrace a new devastating form of taxation

Why not, here in Mississauga as of Jan 1, 2016 we are going to be taxed for the rain that falls on our houses.
