Why the rush to ease Khadr’s bail restrictions?

After just four months on bail, the lucky Khadr has managed to get rid of virtually all the court-imposed limitations on his freedom that were supposed to ensure that he didn’t revert to his terrorist ways: he no longer has to wear his monitoring ankle bracelet because it was embarrassing and got in the way of his soccer playing; he no longer has surveillance software on his computer because it was interfering with his studies to be an emergency medical technician.

Only in Canada.
