Chrissie Hynde attacks today’s lewd pop stars branding them ‘sex workers’ who have created a ‘pornography culture’

Chrissie HyndeShe provoked fierce debate by saying it was her own fault for being sexually assaulted at 21.

And now Chrissie Hynde has waded into another contentious area – the overly sexualised nature of modern pop music.

In an obvious reference to scantily-clad stars such as Miley Cyrus and Rihanna, the former Pretenders lead singer branded them ‘sex workers’ for selling music by ‘bumping and grinding’ in their underwear. The 64-year-old also accused them of doing ‘a great deal of damage’ to women with their risque performances.

  • Thank God a woman said this truth.

If a man said it there would be hell to pay.

    But it is a fact.

The Slut Walkers will be baying for her blood.

But ARMIES of the SANE will protect her.

Believe me, she’s tough enough to slay them all.

The market has spoken. The people like twerking. Roll on Armageddon.

I have no use for Miley and Rihanna and their ilk either, but that’s because I wish they would leave adult entertainment to adult entertainers & women who are good at it. Let strippers strip and singers sing, and pseudostrippers lip synching & autotuning can get off the stage and go to Hell.

    • Justin St.Denis

      Valid points.

  • Jay Currie

    Sure… But what about Madge?

    • Justin St.Denis

Madge is a genuine whore in the classic sense of the word. Didn’t you notice that? As her ex-husband said, Madge is slim and worked out and all, but it really was like fucking a bicycle. Poor guy didn’t realize he was being processed, not made love to.

Never liked Hynde nor The Pretenders. Back in the 80s she was full of that bullshit leftist indignation. Remeber that retarded song “Ohio”. Her tone hasn’t change, only the objects of her indignation. Sheema Khan without the headgear.

I mean, Miley Cyrus is a joke; she’s like Minnie Mouse without the mouse ears. Miss Warble and twerk.

And what could be funnier than the smokey, sultry, half-naked Rihanna being chased off a potato field by that Irish farmer? What better to wipe the stupid pout off her lips?

    • Justin St.Denis

Your point? Just wondering. I did get that you don’t like Hynde or The Pretenders.

BTW, I remember doing and saying incredibly stupid shit in the 1980s. I have matured and grown with time, tide, family, money and investments.

You should precede your comments with the assertion that you yourself stand by everything you ever said or did in your youth, and that you have been flawless every moment that you have drawn breath. It will prepare the reader for whatever follows.

Rush Limbaugh, who for years had been using an edited instrumental version of Hynde’s song “My City Was Gone” for the broadcast’s opening theme. When the request came to Hynde’s attention during a radio interview, she said her parents loved and listened to Rush and she did not mind its use. They agreed to a usage payment which she donates to PETA

We always knew that Chrissie Hynde, Rock Goddess, had a brain and balls. But who ever suspected that this PARAGON OF WOMANLY SEXUALITY would singlehandedly take on the forces of Third Wave Feminism and rock them to their very core?

CHRISSIE HYNDE RULES, and her brand new album kicks ass, as opposed to anything by the women she is critiquing.

  • bargogx1

She nailed it. Most of what all those pop tarts do has very little to do with music. The music is just a backdrop for them to go out there and try to prove that they’re the hottest bitch, or the Queen Bitch, or whatever the hell it is they’re trying to prove. If they ever stopped with the stripper acts people would stop paying attention to them, because their music, for the most part, is boring as hell.

  • Sweet_binky

I do love my Chrissie. Such real talent. She has aged well and grown more intelligent with her years.
